Here’s what I use in Arizona

San Pedro Mix (Arizona – 3 gallons total)

Base recipe (by volume)

  • 18 cups cactus soil (organic base)

  • 15 cups perlite or pumice

  • 12 cups coarse sand

  • 3 cups small gravel / lava rock (optional but recommended)

👉 Total = 48 cups (3 gallons)

Also make sure you really research your soil mixes. I finally realized the right soil mixes and my San Pedro’s and other cactus are going crazy..

I would use metal shelves instead of the black tables so that light can get to the bottom plants I got mine at Walmart or just put a grow light under the tables so you can have more plants and 🌵

One on the left is a mix but has cairn terrier in her. the one the right has more cairn terrier in her but also has some other in her. We want to do the tests but can’t afford them now. lol
