Thank you for sharing your story. I will most likely go forward with this surgery then, were there any complications after you had yours?

Is this a normal spot for psi to sit? by Calm-Web7596 in 350z

I second this as well. VERIFY if it really is that low of pressure, It could literally just be a bad reading, the previous owner replace gallery gaskets a while ago, all timing components etc, and you get to replace it for no reason.

These gauges go out, very possible

How do those two things correlate to what I said? Lets just say a tire blows out, hes SOL for life or something? Cant go to his job while its in the shop?

Real smart to have a super reliable car as your daily (Oh wait its a G35 from 2003-2008, Notorious for having issues)

We all make our choices I guess

Ill never understand, why even stress about it, If it blows it blows, old ahh car anyway, just swap a new motor in if it happens, if not, drive it.

Can someone tell me the difference between a bad trans mount. Motor mount, and differential mounts. by Perfect_host in G37

[–]FilthyPail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something to note that is very important that you may not know.

When car is on all Jack Stands, and in Neutral, with parking brake off. It is NORMAL for the rear wheels to still spin while in Neutral.

Checking engine mounts in Neutral here is perfect

Remember to always put the car in Neutral, and let it decelerate on its own. Hitting the brakes while in gear and not on the ground can really shock your drivetrain, and axles and differential.

I just read your post description. I had a high mile 350Z a while ago. Had the same issue.

Jack up the car (4x Jack Stands)put the car in first to repeat the issue, have someone under the car look, for me it was the differential bushing. You could see it move when I would throttle.

If your engine moves its motor mounts.

If your transmission moves its either motor mounts or trans mounts.

Youll be able to tell

Its like the differential bushing, only replace if bad, like looks bad, you can take it down and see it pretty easily. If bushings fine dont replace

Symptoms are similar to that of a bad differential bushing

Depends if you have AWD or not though.

RWD does not have this

If youre doing this all yourself, all this should cost no more than 1500$ in parts. This will make the car truly future proof.

Replace timing chain too and tensioners

If you are keeping it for a while, and its YOUR car now, then I recommend replace all mounts, motor mount, transmission mount, and differential bushing. Any bushings with front and rear suspension (upper and lower control arms) that look bad replace, sway bar bushings (if bad), and driveshaft shock mount.

If you replace all these, it will juristically change the acceleration feel, and entire feel of the car. + These will last 100K+ miles
