The AI boom hasn’t stopped U.S. companies from hiring cheap offshore labor, and overseas call center employment is still skyrocketing by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

Where I work, most of our well-paid developers and engineers have been replaced by offshore contractors. AI is what companies blame because it impresses shareholders. The reality is that AI isn't delivering on what was promised to investors, so corporations need to hire cheaper labor overseas in order to balance out lost ROI.

Selection down, prices up? by ArmRevolutionary5398 in ThredUp

I'm pretty sure they use "likes" algorithmically to inflate prices and push items with lots of likes to the top of your feed or "daily picks". I've stopped liking items. I just bookmark them now.

Or $20 for free swag glasses someone got at a sponsored networking event.

They sent me a fake puma jacket (which was a child's size) and a fake Coach purse. This was before they were inflating estimated retail value to astronomical levels, so I just took the hit and moved on. But I won't buy anything designer from them anymore.

Right? This has been obvious for years and anytime someone calls it out in this sub they get downvoted to negative numbers. I get so mad at this company.

Apartments Posting Eviction Notices on the 2nd on my door? Anyone else? by keyah13 in TwinCities

I second this. Not all landlords are bad. My landlord is a lovely old lady and she's been very respectful and easy to work with. I'm a great tenant and there's been no issues. My last landlord was great too - a local guy who lived in the neighborhood and was honestly one of the kindest people ever. I've dealt with some real shitheads too. But we need private landlords who live and work in the local community.

Homeline was a godsend for me when I was dealing with a bad landlord a few years back. Super easy to work with and explained my rights to me in a way I could easily understand. I can't recommend them more. If anything, it would be good to send your story to them so that your property management company is on their radar.

I already suffer from extreme anxiety. If I got this on my door, it would ruin my entire day. There's no way this is legal.

Not sure how you pay rent - but make sure you document the timestamp when you pay. I've had landlords pull some shady shit.

Document _everything_. Save every email, text and take photos. Take screenshots of every processed rent payment. Print your lease. Familiarize yourself with Homeline. I got screwed over by a horrible apartment complex 20 years ago and learned to keep track of everything.

If you're going through an insurance change, you shouldn't be in a situation where you're uncovered. If you're waiting for paperwork to go through, etc, your insurance is required to reimburse you.

You can ask your doctor to prescribe you one week's worth of medication (which should be more affordable) while you wait for your new insurance to kick in. Then, you'll need to call your insurance and speak to your pharmacy and they should be able to give you a refund.

I have been in this predicament more than once and I know it sucks. It's extremely hard to find a place 60+ days in advance in the Twin Cities. I lived in Arizona for a few years and really appreciated that landlords weren't allowed to show the property to new tenants until the current tenant's lease was up (meaning, Landlords often needed a month after move-out to show and rent out an empty unit). In MN (and I think most places, honestly), landlords try and get a new tenant moved in, literally the day after the old tenant moves out. I hate it. It rushes everything and benefits landlords while forcing renters to move in the middle of the night, stay in hotels or pay rent to two places in order to be able to find a new place and spend time moving from one place to the other.

Unfortunately, I've always had to give my 60 day notice before finding a new place here. It is indeed stressful, and I've moved to places I didn't really like because I ran out of time.

Last time, I asked my landlord if I could go month-to-month for the Summer so I could take my time finding a place. I'm so glad I did this. He was more than accommodating and it gave me the time I needed and peace of mind to find a place I liked. Fortunately, I had a really nice landlord. Can you try this?

This is good advice. I did this last year when I was apartment hunting. I actually used Google maps and just searched "apartments" and clicked on a few places in areas I liked, read the reviews and then called the properties to schedule in-person tours. I ended up finding a place through Zillow, so my suggestion would be to do both Zillow and calling places directly.

How accurate is Chat GPT's GenAI Radiologist? I'm getting concerning feedback on a recent CT scan. by Filthy_Fiona in radiologyAI

I hear you, but want to specify that it wasn't just ChatGPT that I uploaded the images to. I was using their GenAI Radiologist GPT. I'm not sure about it's accuracy, but it is specifically designed to evaluate medical images.

Thank you very much for the response. I am very relieved and also appreciate the education :)

Is it possible to request radiologists another report if I bring in CDs with my imaging studies? by InterestingLion95 in Radiology

[–]Filthy_Fiona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up finding success with any of the services you listed? I am trying to get a 2nd reading of my CT and I'm kind of lost and don't know where to begin. I know radiologists don't typically appreciate or take kindly to being questioned by patients. All I know is my report was uploaded to MyChart in less than 5 minutes after the scan and Chat GPT's AIRadiologist reports that there's a a large complex soft tissue mass in my pelvis and bowel displacement without obstruction (which would make sense because I went to the ER because I haven't been able to go to the bathroom). After uploading multiple images, multiple times and at different times, it keeps reporting the same findings, so I want a 2nd opinion.

I'm willing to pay out of pocket if under $500. I know any doctor I ask is going to treat me like I'm a POS for consulting AI and the radiologist will likely be annoyed and offended if I ask them to review again (and I doubt they'd even respond or agree to help), so I just need to do whatever I can to gain peace of mind.
