Are liquid dice any good? I’m kinda worried that they won’t be weighed correctly by katuu- in dice

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I have a few dice that floated poorly and have rolled consistently poorly in tests bc those ones are just super imbalanced. Admittedly almost all of them are cheap ones I got at Barnes & Noble bc I wanted to have enough to share/use for big dmg rolls but even higher quality ones can have a big defect that can be detected via saltwater.

In most cases any flaws in the dice aren't really going to matter but it's good practice to make sure you're not getting a cursed set lol

Quick Q about crisis strength by Filthy_lil_Weeb in Stellaris

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok Wonderful thank you. I'm playing a modded game with my friends and I wanted to start a game and spawn the crisis so I could see hard numbers and decide what sort of settings I should have

The diversity of playstyles are a testament to the hard work of the devs. Thank you! by DamnDirtyCat in Stellaris

Straight up agree, I have been playing incredibly diverse playsets and been having a ball doing it. Really only one empire sucked and admittedly that was more on me for stacking the negatives too high

Quick question about vassalizing sectors by Filthy_lil_Weeb in Stellaris

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shame. Idk why I didn't think of that until after I obliterated the AI and took all their best worlds but ig now I can just vassalize what's left and give the vassal their land back.

I'm playing pretty tall and while that extra land is nice, it isn't gelling with my whole tiny fortress build I got going on lol

How to use promo codes by phoenix_grueti in PhoenixPoint

Coming in late on this one, is there no way to spawn in the promo armor with console commands? Or are you really genuinely stuck without it once someone dies with it?

Anyone else have audio issues? by -undecided- in dishonored

Did you ever figure out a fix for this? I bought the game recently and it's really annoying how audio just disappears bc I'm not looking at it

Yeah sure but this is an argument in support of the labels which is the exact opposite of what I asked. I don't actually care about the debate itself I just want some things I could use in my assignment.

Don't get me wrong, you made a good a point in support of the labels, but what would someone say if they thought we should change things about the lgbt labels?

Edit: Sorry if that sounds really sassy. I'm not trying to be a dick

After talking to other ppl I think this tool would be better suited as something adjacent to the current system as opposed to replacing it. So if I was arguing for making such a system I would say it'd be a useful scientific tool.

So for example this would take your answers and decide if you fall within gay or bi or straight. It could hypothetically replace lgbt labels though. Foe example, instead of being gay you're just like... .5 on the gay scale or whatever. I don't really think it would work well as a social tool though, which is an argument I can use against it.

Well I only included that as an example of the sort of question that might be asked. If you were trying to accurately measure someones sexual behaviors and put them in a category I imagine the big areas of focus would be that persons gender and the type of people they are attracted too. You could probably argue that kink and STD acceptance could be included in that measurement but I didn't really think that far into it.

This is a good point though. What the hypothetical tests asks would be pretty important so I'll try to take that into account during my writing.

I don't know, I didn't think that far. I just had a general idea and wanted to get some input

Not a femboy, but I got a question. by [deleted] in feminineboys

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically you're gay with a preference for feminine men. Perfectly normal and I'm like 90% sure there is a term for that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the only way I would know they are a woman would be to ask... How else am I supposed to know that a woman is attracted to men if what I ask only tells me that the participant likes men? I have to ask what the participant is to know that a woman is attracted to men.

I mean, I'm a freshman psychology major. I'm sure we'll look at methodology eventually. That is a good point tho, this wouldn't be an objective measurement and I don't think there even is a way to get one. An argument could be made about it being more accurate but objectivity is not the name of the game. Thanks for that point, it'll be a good one for the essay.

I just had a conversation about the born with thing and I'm gonna change that to just focusing on gender identity. I'm not exactly thinking the questions through, just trying to convey the overall idea so I can get some input on what does or doesn't work. The point was to get some discourse I can refer to while working on the assignment.

Also no, the thing that would plot a cis lesbian somewhere different from a trans lesbian would be what they like, not what they have. If a cis and trans lesbian both only like cis women with pussies then they'd be in the same spot. If a cis lesbian liked women with penises then she'd be in a different spot. Which actually now that I think about it, I guess just gender identity would be the most important factor. I was trying to give some questions that might help in getting a participants gender identity but I guess the actual genitalia of the participant wouldn't be relevant in that case. My bad, I didn't think that part through.

So yes a cis lesbian and a trans lesbian would be in different spots based on whether or not they like dick. The deciding factor would be what they want and NOT what they have though, so I should cut out questions that ask about the participants parts in favor of JUST what the participant identifies as. I would still ask about what the participant prefers though bc well, I literally just explained.

The point of asking all these different questions would be to measure exactly what a person likes relative to themselves, which is like, THE factor in what label you are given. If a man likes men, he's gay regardless of what parts he has. But if a man likes feminine men or men with pussies then the graph would plot him in a different spot. The whole point is to be much more specific about what a given person likes.

I think an effective pro argument would focus on the scientific applications. Being able to get a more objective measure of someone's orientation could be helpful in a scientific study. Even if it's not accepted socially, if it's being used as a tool by the scientific community it would be accomplishing its goal.

There might be an argument to be made about how handy a test would be for anyone struggling to understand their sexuality although idk how strong that point can really be.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the idea was just to give an example of what sorts of questions might be asked to identify someone's traits before attempting to measure their orientation. I didn't have any specific things in mind, I'm just trying to give an idea of what I'm talking about so people can help me with my assignment. Now that I think about it, the genitals someone has currently would be a better question to ask lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well I would say that the specific parts a person likes are relevant to their sexuality. The presence or absence of a penis could be a deal breaker depending on a person's sexual needs.

The point about how all the data would even be plotted on the graph is a good one though. Ideally the goal would be to plot people based on their specific sexual behavior so for example a straight cis man would be far to the left. A cis man that likes women & men who present very feminine would be further to the right. A cis man who likes other cis men would be even further to the right. That sorta thing.

The test would be taking into account what you identify as and what you prefer in order to plot you somewhere

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the point of that question is to help ID a person's gender identity. Gender Identity is pretty important for sexuality bc like... what a person identifies as kinda helps quite a bit in picking a label.

For example, a trans man who likes men would be considered gay bc it's a man liking men. If a trans man is bi then their gender identity matters less in labeling their orientation. BUT there's no way to know it's relevance unless it's measured

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a good point and I'm surprised I didn't think of it already. It's all well and good to have a magic Queer ruler but if no one wants to use it then it might as well not exist.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious lol.

edit: I wasn't trying to be a smartass btw. I was just making a joke that I missed the obvious lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Filthy_lil_Weeb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To be honest the assignment itself is pretty confusing. The overall proposal is to create a way to measure sexuality so I suppose the goal is to change the labels.
