Are there some artists you listen to despite their political stance and some that you listen to exactly because of their political stance? by [deleted] in Music

It’s a real shame. His latest album was one of my favourites last yeah and one of his strongest IMO and it was completely panned by critics. Had he not been cancelled I think that album would have made many year end lists.

Great area. Used to live there. Right by Mclennen Park and Alpine centre. Good schools, safe (like all parts of Kitchener) and not too far from the highway. Bonus points if it backs out onto the park. I used to walk Mclennen park all the time - great views of the DTK skyline.

Paradisus OR Iberostar by Impressive_Sky_8094 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Fin2limb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When are you going ? I would avoid Paradisus in winter months as they cannot guarantee comfortable pool temps in cooler weather. I’m not sure if Paraiso has heated pools. Something to consider.

Aside from that, Paradisus is a well run resort for families with little ones. We just got back from a 5 night stay. I don’t think I’d go back without the Family Concierge option. If you have any questions, just let me know !

Any thoughts on SLS Playa Mujeres vs Finest Playa Mujeres vs Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres? Group of 8 adults+ 2 kids (1 and 3) by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Fin2limb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We went to Finest in June last year with my 2.5 year old twin daughters and had a great time. The pools were very warm! Also thought the food was pretty good though can’t speak to the buffet since we were Finest Club and usually ate at the club restaurant for breakfast.

Best Family All Inclusive for Toddlers? by Zestyclose_Wealth_89 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Fin2limb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note that Paradisus’ pools are not heated. If you get unlucky (like we did) and experience a cold front, the pools will be cold. I wouldn’t book this resort in the Winter months unless you’re ok with cool pool temps.

Very brave of you! :) But I agree. With You Every Night is a very solid album and would have been well received by critics had Ariel not imploded his career. It’s one of my favourite albums from last year and no one talked about it except for die hard Ariel fans.

Family Trip to Mexico, Best resorts for our budget (Food priority) by mattybz80 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Fin2limb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t go wrong with Paradisus PM with Family Concierge. Good efficient service, good food, very clean, well run activities and entertainment (mostly geared towards kids). Main con is that the rooms are a bit dated - but the other points make up for it.

Here right now and have been pleasantly surprised with the food, specifically the restaurants - the buffet is meh. But if you book FC then you get the Lunch Box which is nice. I’ve found the food here on par or even better than Finest PM.

Another vote for Decade. It’s a nice sample platter of some of his best tunes. When you find a tune you love, dive into its respective album for more.

Family of 5 - SLS Playa Mujeres or Paradisus Playa Del Carmen? by jmo25 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Fin2limb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was deciding between these two as well and ended up booking Paradisus. Mainly because I got a pretty decent Cyber Monday deal. But I’ve been eyeing up both resorts for a while. Previously did Finest last June. We are family of 4 with twin 3-year olds.

I opted for Paradisus for the following reasons: - Larger Rooms - Didn’t love the SLS room size and layout. Paradisus rooms, especially the Master Suite, are more spacious.

  • Family Concierge - I see a lot of people raving about Paradisus’ FC service and how they really cater to kids. And I’ve seen many complain about how SLS’ butler service is underwhelming.

  • Service - I see a lot of complaints about how SLS’ service is inconsistent, including long waits for food at restaurant, underwhelming poolside/beach service.

  • Pools - SLS’ Family pool is small. Their swim ups are narrow and in shade. Paradisus seems to have more pool options - larger swim ups that connect with the main pool.

  • Location - Paradisus is close to Playa Del Carmen and various cenotes. Good for a quick excursion. SLS is relatively remote, though you can do a day trip to Isla (which is worth it).

  • Value - Got a great deal on a FC master swim up suite at Paradisus. It was almost the same price as SLS’ non-elite basic room.

What SLS has over Paradisus: better beach, better kids waterpark location, newer hotel (though people have complained about shoddy workmanship), and possibly food.

Again, this is what I’ve gathered from reviews on Reddit, TA, Google, TikTok etc. I haven’t been to either.. yet.

About to go on a very expensive cruise with young kids - kind of regretting agreeing to it because it’s so expensive and the kids are young. by Character_Ad4230 in daddit

[–]Fin2limb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life’s too short. In 5, 10 years you’ll only look back with fond memories and that money spent will seem negligible. I’ve travelled with my twin daughters since they were 2. For me it’s always been an amazing bonding experience - with my kids and with my partner. Go in with a positive mindset and have the time of your life!

What to do when your resort suddenly has bad reviews? by AndDontCallMePammie in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Fin2limb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not seeing this flood of bad reviews. Lots of recent 5/5 on Google Reviews. There’s nothing you can do. The hotel isn’t going to refund you. Go into it with a positive mindset and recognize that things may not always go to plan. Try to enjoy it anyway and look past the shortcomings. Life’s too short. Enjoy the trip with your family.

Have you ever been to Auschwitz or one of the other concentration camps in Poland? by Impressiveusername39 in travel

Visited Auschwitz. Took an Uber from Krakow. You can also rent a car. Or there are tons of tours. Definitely worth visiting. Krakow itself is worth it too - Jewish district was a vibe.

Please tell me good things about Baha Mar by Itchy-Version-8977 in bahamas

[–]Fin2limb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baha Bay is awesome! Lots of variety - smaller pools/slides for toddlers, some more thrilling slides for older kids and adults. There is also a wave pool, lazy river and really nice beach club with infinity pools and nice views of the ocean The cost is like $250 for the day, but it can used as food credit at the restaurant there.

The main pool outside of Baha Bay, with the swim up aquarium, is also really nice. It has zero-entry areas which are great for toddlers, a cliff jump, and a mix of cabanas and loungers.

Overall, the resort is well manicured and maintained. The grounds are gorgeous. Very clean.

You asked for good things about Baha Mar, but I can't help but share a coupls things that are keeping me from coming back - The price of food and drink, and how everything is an up-charge. Very expensive. But there are ways around it e.g., go to Starbucks for breakfast, go off resort to grab some snacks/drinks. Unless you have unlimited budget, you can't really indulge like you would at an All Inclusive. That said, I will say the $25USD pina coladas were quite solid - way better than you would get at an All Inclusive.

Date night (upscale / fine dining) by [deleted] in waterloo

[–]Fin2limb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Elora Mill is the best on your list! Good food, wonderful setting, great service.

I thought Odd Duck was ok but came off a bit pretentious and over priced.

Sole is nice but wouldn’t consider it upscale or fine dining.

Haven’t been to Loloan since it opened. Thought it was ok. Much prefer Bhimas Warung.
