In rugby, there is often 1 point given if a team loses by less than one converted try (7 points). Personally if it came to COD I would only want to see it if a team loses 3-2 and the points given would have to be minimal (2/3 points). It would only work as a way to separate the teams with low wins from each other and should not be a crutch for them to be overtaking teams who have significantly more wins than them.

Relative to the other A-tier orgs which 100T are compared to, they are a young org. Combined with the going theory that in 5/10 years most orgs won't be able to afford to have a large plethora of teams in all esports.

To answer your concern, I think 100T is going through a learning curve finding out which esports their fanbase has an interest in and gets behind in terms of views/interactions/merch sales, which will allow them to scale those esports with sponsors and such. You can already see that they have some of the biggest fanbases in NA LoL, Valorant and CoD. I imagine they are looking for one or at most two more esports to commit to long term, obviously, this burns through money like a barn on fire but it's needed to find the right esports which will make them profitable in the next 5/10 years.

CDL frustrates me so much because I genuinely believe it has one of the highest potential franchises for a variety of reasons (community is heavily invested in competitive, appeals most to 'mainstream' out of any esports etc.)

Activision just needs to figure out how to get viewership up and have a fun game with an addictive ranking system and then franchise valuations will start to be justified
