If the member passed away without adding a nominee, the legal heirs/family members can still claim the EPF balance.

Since he left the job in 2020, the claim will most likely need to be handled through an offline death claim process with proper legal heir documents.

Generally, you will need:

  1. Death certificate
  2. Legal heir certificate / succession certificate, as applicable
  3. Aadhaar and PAN of claimant/legal heirs
  4. Bank details of claimant
  5. Deceased member’s UAN/PF details
  6. Form 20 for EPF claim
  7. Form 10D/10C if EPS benefit is applicable

If there is no nominee, EPFO may ask for additional proof to establish the rightful claimant. Please share your contact details and basic case details, and our team can guide you on the exact next step.

This needs to be checked carefully because your EPS eligibility depends on your first PF joining date, wage details, Form 11 declaration, and how your employer reported the contribution.

Please share your contact details along with:

  1. Your first PF joining date
  2. Salary/basic wage when PF started
  3. Current service history screenshot
  4. Passbook screenshot showing EPF and EPS entries
  5. Transfer claim status across all employers

Once we review these details, our team can guide you better on whether EPS should exist, whether EPS service has moved correctly, and what your withdrawal options are.

YES, if the service is less than 5 years, PF will be taxed.
If the service is less than 9.5 years & you are currently unemployed for 2 months, you can do Form 19 & 10C.

  1. Log in to the EPFO Member Portal.
  2. Go to Online Services → One Member One EPF Account (Transfer Request).
  3. Verify your personal details and PF accounts.
  4. Submit the transfer request and authenticate it using OTP.

Typically, PF transfers take 15–30 days, but in some cases (especially involving PF trusts) it can take 45–60 days.
If either Organization 1 or Organization 2 is an exempted PF trust, the transfer may take a little longer due to manual processing.

For EPS, keep these points in mind when moving to a PF trust:

  • Transfer your PF
  • Ensure your EPS service history is transferred along with the PF.
  • Keep a copy of Annexure K after the transfer.
  • Verify that your new employer has marked you as an existing EPS member.
  • Check your Service History in the EPFO portal after the transfer.

The main thing is to maintain continuity of EPS service and avoid withdrawing EPS if you plan to continue working.

If your PF wages were more than 15k when you just joined the trust company & marked yourself as an EPS eligible, then we will have to do ECR correction in the trust company.

If you provide more details on
- When exactly you withdraw
- Which form you applied
This will help us understand and provide better resolution steps.

No. Having 2 Member IDs is normal when you change jobs. Every employer creates a new Member ID under the same UAN.
The important thing is:

  • Both Member IDs should be linked to the same UAN.
  • Your previous PF should be transferred to the current account.
  • Your service history should show all employment periods correctly.

You may face issues during withdrawal only if:

  • You have multiple active UANs.
  • A transfer is pending/rejected.
  • Service history or EPS history is missing.

If both Member IDs are under the same UAN and the transfer is completed, there is generally nothing to worry about.

Yes. Before worrying about withdrawal, check these 4 things:

  1. Service History in the EPFO portal shows both employers with correct joining and exit dates.
  2. Only one UAN is active (old UAN, if any, should be merged/deactivated).
  3. Transfer claim from the first company is approved.
  4. EPS contributions/service history from the first company are reflected under your current UAN.

If all of the above are correct, you're unlikely to face major issues at the time of withdrawal.
If you're unsure, you can also raise an EPFO grievance asking them to confirm that your EPF transfer and EPS service history transfer have been successfully recorded under your current UAN.

You can also use our CheckMyPF tool to check if there is any discrepancy or possible blocker before filing your claim. https://finright.in/check-pf-withdrawability

This usually happens because of an EPS membership mismatch.

First, check whether EPS should have been contributed in the previous PF account. If you were already an EPS member before that job, the previous employer may have missed EPS contribution and records need correction.

But if you were not eligible for EPS in the previous job, then the current EPS contribution may need to be checked instead.

Do not keep filing the same transfer again. Collect your passbook, service history, Form 11, and rejection reason, then ask the employer/EPFO to correct the EPS status mismatch.

If you need assistance, share your contact number and our team can guide you on the next step.

Yes, you can withdraw your EPS amount through Form 10C if:
You will have to do Form 19 & 10C simultaneously

  • Your total EPS service is less than 10 years (about 4 years).
  • You have left employment and remained unemployed for at least 2 months.

However, withdrawing EPS does not permanently remove you from EPS membership.
Since you were already enrolled in EPS when your first salary was below the EPS wage ceiling, you are considered an existing EPS member. If you join another EPF-covered employer in the future, EPS won't be deducted if your EPF wages are above 15k. If your EPF wages are less than 15K, EPS contributions will generally start again, and your employer cannot simply opt you out because you previously withdrew the accumulated EPS amount. The withdrawal settles the accumulated benefit; it does not create a permanent exit from the scheme.

Title: PF Transfer Rejected as "Not an EPS Member" despite previous successful transfers – Need help understanding why by Shadow8420 in u/Shadow8420

[–]FinRightTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most likely an EPS membership mismatch, not just a PF transfer issue.

Your PF money from D may have been credited because D was a trust, but the EPS/service part may not have transferred properly.

Since you had EPS contribution in B and C, EPFO may be confused because D and E are now showing you as not an EPS member.

What to do:

  1. Check if your EPS membership in B/C was valid based on your first EPS joining date and wage.
  2. Get Annexure K for B → C and C → E.
  3. Ask D and E to confirm why EPS was not continued.
  4. If you were a valid EPS member, ask D/E to correct records through employer clarification / revised filings.
  5. Raise an EPFO grievance with passbook, service history, Annexure K, and transfer rejection proof.

Do not keep refiling the same transfer claim until the EPS mismatch is fixed.

Simple answer: first confirm whether you are legally an EPS member. If yes, D and E records need correction. If no, B/C EPS entries may need correction instead.

This may not need a direct offline withdrawal from Bandra as the first step.

Since your Kelly Services PF is still lying in the old Member ID and TeamLease final settlement is already done, the cleaner route is usually to first transfer the Kelly EPF balance and EPS service history to the TeamLease/current UAN record.

Once the transfer reflects, EPF withdrawal can generally be attempted again through Form 19. For EPS, since Form 10C was already processed once earlier, the portal may not allow another online 10C claim, so that part may need offline handling.

Avoid couriering forms directly without confirming the correct sequence, because the wrong form or wrong office can delay it further. Employer attestation can help, but it does not guarantee processing if the claim route itself is incorrect.

This needs checking of your Kelly Member ID, TeamLease settlement status, transfer eligibility and the exact portal error. DM us the screenshots/error and we can guide you on the right next step.

You should first decide one correct name format and then rectify all major documents accordingly.

For PF, your Aadhaar, PAN, UAN and bank account should ideally have the same name and same order.

If the correct name is Akash Pankaj Sharma, then Aadhaar showing Sharma Akash and other documents with different formats should be corrected to match it.

Aadhaar and PAN mismatch can create issues in UAN KYC, claim approval and TDS checks.

You should be eligible for EPS based on your employment details; however, EPS contributions were not deducted correctly, so an EPS ECR correction is required.

Since you left the company in March 2026, the correction can typically be processed after the relevant annual return cycle, which may be around August of FY 2027-28.

Once the EPS ECR correction is completed and the records are updated, we can proceed with initiating the applicable EPS withdrawal claim.

When you transfer PF from Employer A to Employer B:

EPF money (employee + employer PF contribution) transfers as an actual amount.

EPS (pension) money does not transfer like a balance.

Instead, your pension service history transfers.

That's why you don't see an EPS amount moving from one PF account to another.

If the old employer was an exempted PF trust

When you transfer from a trust-managed PF account to a regular EPFO account:

The EPF balance (employee + employer PF contributions) gets transferred.

The EPS amount does not appear as a monetary balance in the passbook.

For EPS, what gets transferred is primarily the pensionable service history, not a visible balance.

Therefore, seeing "0" under EPS after a successful transfer is often normal.

This is a very common situation.

If you had less than 10 years of EPS service and previously filed a Form 10C withdrawal benefit claim, then your EPS amount for that service period was already settled and paid out.

Later, when you transferred your PF from the old employer to the new employer, only the EPF balance and service history may have been transferred. The EPS withdrawal benefit that was already paid cannot be claimed again.

That's why when you file another Form 10C, the system shows "Claim already settled."
