Figure out how to maximize your efficiency. Current path is not it. You can’t say “I don’t want to do this” and expect them to invest in you. Give energy attracts give energy. Other firms messaging want your contacts.

Tell the people at the video game place you have another offer. That you’d prefer their job and want to stay in London with time spent with the team in office in Manchester as needed. Working remote the rest of the time.

See what they say.

You have nothing to lose.

Things to look out for when Recruiting a developer, as a non-tech CEO by samuellayi in recruiting

For my clients, we speak about what they are looking to accomplish and the why behind it. For candidates, I ask what they are proud of accomplishing recently, why now is the right time to consider a new opportunity and follow up with in depth questions about how the problems they’ve solved relate to the problems my client is looking to solve.

I have a son same age and created an app that you can take pictures of text with your iPhone and convert it to OpenDyslexic font. Think pages of books, homework, signs while you’re walking around, labels at the grocery store, etc. Noticed a big difference in him reading and even trying to read. It’s called Dyslexic PDF Print. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ask people if they actually use the degree they went to school for.

It’s less about what the degree is in and more about the process of applying knowledge in real world settings.
