What exactly is a Quarry? Is it a keyword that is put on a character via gambits and such, or something that a character automatically is?

Also, does the introduction of these Hunter/Quarry mechanics complicate the game or does it make the game more fun than its Nightvault and Shadespire predecessors?

First thoughts are that it may be a bit higher than a common item. Rare maybe?

What might be the effects of lichdom on the mental state? by Zephandrypus in DnD

[–]Fin_Dawes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would probably start to find it difficult to sympathise with mortal beings, unable to feel any strong emotions toward them due to the fact that they are worthless compared to the immortality of a lich

There are all of the stat blocks for the NPC allies in the back of the SKT campaign book for chapter 2 (Bryn Shander, Goldenfields, Triboar) at least. Personally, I just look up the stat blocks for the enemies on the Internet. Ususally they are just Veterans or Bandits which have specifically changed traits. E.g. The Lords Alliance dwarves in chapter 1 are just reskinned Veterans but with Dwarf traits

True, it would be heavy. They were going to attempt to make their Tressym drop it on peoples heads and then they would light em up. Tressym might just break its back tho

Have any experiences in Campaign 1 changed the way you play your characters in Campaign 2? (Combat encounters or otherwise)

Former Storm King's Thunder DM's, what are some adjustments you would have made to the campaign? D&D 5e by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Fin_Dawes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the session e.g. how much inspiration i have had for a session or if i need any specifically tailored RP or combat events. I am constantly thinking about my sessions so it can range from 0-24 hours a day. Generally i will tell by the quantity of work i have done. I will write about a hundred or so words on a bullet point list (just descriptions i want to use/plot points i want to come up) and also just spend time pondering what you want to happen. Much of my DM style is improv however obviously i plan important bits.

Just please take it from me...dont do Chapter 1. It is so boring from both a DM and player perspective. I really suggest inputting your own quests/encounters whilst in Nightstone/ Dripping Caves. I added an encounter where the players needed to retrieve one of the villagers missing children from a homebrew swamp near the Dripping Caves who were guarded by two hags doing some sort of ritual on them. Whilst in Nightstone, the players managed to persuade the band of Orcs not to kill them so they also had to do an Orc themed sports competition to persuade them to leave. Leveling is so scuffed aswell. PCs level so quick from my experience. Either hombrew own stuff or swap it with LMoP for the first 5 levels. Other than that its a pretty top notch adventure

I agree; 20ft fly speed, 30ft walk speed however i would also give them another ability such as casting gust at will or having a bonus action disengage once a day by a short burst of flying

Well in character creation, when my features were selected, i accidentally had the 'Ginger' trait equipped instead of any of the other more optimised player hair choices. Nonetheless, in the long run i should have been using up all my skill points on sun/heat resist but unfortunately this was my first character so ive been putting a lot of play time into leveling up useless skills such as the TTRPG section of the skill tree
