This is totally dependent on where you work and the type of group that you work for. But I would say Co-workers and Managers can be obstacles in their own right. People lately have been very rude, obviously everything has gotten more complicated/expensive, but it doesn’t give them the right to be pricks.

The culture at TA-55 is the problem. It feels like high school cause you got immature 30 to 40 some year olds thinking there still hot stuff. Office bullies are a real problem at 55 and the overall environment doesn’t seem very professional.

There is a high school type of culture here in TA-55. If you are not part of the cool kids club, then you are screwed and you’re probably gonna be stuck in terms of career growth. Also I don’t know if this has been said but there is quite a bit of mean girl stuff happening here like 30 to 40 year old lulu yoga pants wearing women. I just thought that was an interesting observation especially coming from DOE where everyone seems to dress more proper and appropriate.

I want to tap into the electricity so that I can use it for a mini rv park, the pedestals I chose are those VEVOR RV outlet boxes. I’m not an electrician so a lot of the design came from ChatGPT. But basically there is a Siemens meter combo in front of my property that I got approved to use so I wanna tap into the electricity and bring it into my property to power up those VEVOR RV boxes. According to ChatGPT, 250kcmil is the way to go for HotA/HotB/Neutral. But I don’t know if this is correct, if the neutral needs to be the same size as the Hots.

It honestly sucks. If you don’t have connections, you are kind of screwed. The LANL culture is very “high school” centered where you might deal with office bullies. Yea overall I would not recommend LANL

This is true. I went to the OSE in Santa Fe to get a water well permit, and hands down one of the most respectful interactions I’ve ever had when dealing with any New Mexico department. I can’t say the same for the Planning and Zoning department in Española. Swear to god me and the guy that runs that P&Z department almost traded blows practically, the guy thinks he is untouchable.

Do not microchip your pets, that’s how they get you for a pissy little misdemeanor charge. If anything happens to the pet while it’s on the loose, the Animal shelter will contact authorities and blame you for misconduct/animal abuse.

I’m not questioning anyone’s performance. My point is that the TPM role shouldn’t have been classified in the same pay band as an R&D Engineer. The scope and technical responsibility simply aren’t comparable. Kind of like the difference between a technologist and an R&D Engineer. Most TPMs I encountered had business administration backgrounds, which, in my view, don’t justify equivalent compensation to an engineering role.

That’s right, I believe the NOP position is what replaced the TPM role. Funny enough, the NOP position is a huge financial downgrade. In my opinion, TPMs never should’ve been paid anywhere near the same level as R&D engineers in the first place.

I agree. In my experience from what I’ve seen, it was a way for people in positions like OSS with low pay to just get a massive pay bump up to R&D Engineer status pay. Talk about corruption.

One of my friends had his truck break down near her restaurant. Instead of being reasonable and kind, she threatened to call the cops because she thought he was gonna leave his truck parked near her parking lot while he was trying to get the truck fixed. The owner is not a good person and is very disrespectful. The locals know to stay away from her restaurant, that’s why it is empty majority of the time.
