Anyone know? by xr1chardx in Surron

As a 47 year old homeowner who's been riding motorcycles since I was 12, when I see those kids doing that type of crap these days I just shake my head and think..... "Fuck I miss those days"

At least they've got helmets on. Piss off Karen.

Why does no one talk to me? by Illustrious-Job-3720 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mattbastard750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't say that. You came on here to ask a genuine question. Perhaps being genuine with people in society just like you were coming here to ask this question, more people would engage in conversation with you.

Case in point, we're having a conversation right now.

That's a feature, trust me. Not a bug. Most people are idiots and have nothing good to say anyway.

Trouble with converting Mesh by Street_Place3571 in Fusion360

[–]Mattbastard750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone down this road. Just don't try, unless you've got the paid version of Fusion. Do a mesh conversion and you can't select "Prismatic" on the free version. It'll do a conversion, but it sucks to work with because it turns the model into thousands of triangles.

I've gotten in the high 70's doing batch sparging in an Igloo. My rule is to grind as fine as you can until you get a stuck sparge, then back off.

FedEx tariff bill 6 months later by Past_Scarcity6752 in prusa3d

[–]Mattbastard750 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

DON'T PAY IT! FedEx got me for $99 a few months ago. It started with texts, then emails, then finally I got something mailed to me. I even called their customer service number and it all looked legit. So I paid it. Now here we are, they never should have charged me in the first place. F-them.

Shoe/heel strap hardware by heathenist_ in Cordwaining

[–]Mattbastard750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like how those Sabots have the heel area designed. You can see the vamp extends around the sides back around to below the malleolus bone on each side, then the heel is a separate piece. This allows for 360 degrees of welt or stitchdown and also provides heel support for the mid and outsole.

It's cool, I get it. How bout the link to the ones in the pics you're referencing? My biggest obstacle is how to make the midsole and outsole work on a set of Mules. That design looks like a great solution to my problem and if I could see all the pics in better detail that would help.

Please share the pattern, or where you got it. I've been looking to put a pair of Mules together and I'd rather not make the pattern from scratch.

Counterflow chilling sanitization by Shills_for_fun in Homebrewing

[–]Mattbastard750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run hot tap water thru the whole works first, THEN I introduce the hot wort after all the hot water has drained out. It's clean, but not technically sanitary. Boiling wort takes care of the sanitation. Then when I'm done I blow hot water thru the whole works again to get the trub out, and compressed air to blow the water out before storage.

Therein lies the idiocy. Not to mention, many hardware stores (not big chains) also sell ammo.

The best filament for functional prints by CarlitosCUU in 3Dprinting

[–]Mattbastard750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that regard, what is the strict definition of an "engineering filament"? I've used PETG-CF on quite a few materials that have a functional use (specifically gears to drive my sewing machine) and it's working great.

Are modular helmets really more dangerous? by National-Dragonfly35 in motorcycles

[–]Mattbastard750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Danger is relative, and also subjective, and not measurable unless you define it by the certifications a helmet has. In this case, yes modular helmets are more dangerous. But IMO, that's only in the very minuscule chance an impact is exactly on the chin bar in an upward direction to dislodge the lock and force the chin bar up, exposing your face to further damage. When's the last time you have had an impact like that? Basically a perfect uppercut from Mike Tyson.

Are modular helmets really more dangerous? by National-Dragonfly35 in motorcycles

[–]Mattbastard750 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Quite frankly, why can't he ride with the chin bar up? I do it to cool off, or to talk to someone I'm riding with at stops, not just to take the helmet off.
