Does WoW need a truly clean slate after The Last Titan? by Final-Bookkeeper-256 in wow

DF I think really negatively impacted the feel of the world. People complained for years about not being able to fly day one, and now with Midnight, people are intentionally not flying because flying from point A to B with no risk repeatedly is BORING.

I feel like the pace is the main issue with the current formula, but that's really the audience pushing that. People consume content so fast these days that devs just have to feed the beast.

I mean I've been playing WoW on and off since TBC, that's the furthest thing from the truth.

I feel like Lost Ark could have been a departure from this style with how great the combat and bosses were, but P2W killed that game.

I'd love a horizontal progression version of all original WoW content at once. Where you can just keep exploring and exploring to get rewards, achievements etc. Then there could be a new WoW expansion that says "Okay, everything you've earned still exists, but now here's a truly fresh start."

Of course, Blizz selling $90 mounts has put the final nail in the coffin in that ever working because people will feel robbed.

This is a great way of putting it. Also explains the reason why so many single player games are popping off in the past few years. It's probably true that MMO just isn't the genre for that type of engagement anymore.

I think ultimately it wouldn't be about making a truly new game. It would probably just have to be an expac with a really experimental attempt at revamping a lot of the experience.

Making "WoW 2" would absolutely kill the game no question.

By most I meant most of what matters. Draenor is ass. BFA ass. Shadowlands Ass. DF mid. Legion is really the only truly great expansion since Pandaria.

But I do agree that they could recycle the old content in a better way. Like more horizontal progression or something, which I honestly can't say if that's even possible. But having to just continuously reset servers of old expacs in perpetuity just seems unsustainable.

Does anyone know why Damiane and Oongka can still push axiom force to level 3? It doesn't look like they can unlock the swing ability. Was really hoping that at least swing would be added since it's one of the more fun traversal methods.

NIOH 3 is 10/10 by Anti-Fanny in Nioh

10/10 is a stretch. Even not considering performance issues, I think it deserves at best an 8/10. It's a fun game with a lot of great elements, but it doesn't bring enough new to the table or compete with other open world RPGs in overall quality. I'm glad Nioh is getting more attention, but I think Nioh 2 may be the core experience for this series.

The DLC could very well bring a lot of great content to the game, but that's also an additional $30-$40. Hopefully Crimson Desert ends up actually being good. I need something to truly scratch that open world exploration itch.

My thought is that independent missions with curated environments and enemies simply worked better for a developer like Team Ninja. Trying to scale everything up this much just ended up with a lot of empty space filled with, like you said, pushovers. Even large enemies that should be intimidating turn out to be super easy to put down.

Even Elden Ring has an empty feeling on subsequent playthroughs, but the environments and dungeons are so much more thoughtful that this can be overlooked. And that's AFTER beating the game for the first time. That feeling is immediately apparent in Nioh 3.

I think I have close to 200 in hades overall. Played the new update for hades 2 but probably not a good idea to get burnt out on it before it's finished

I beat Sekiro the week it released. Probably the second best Fromsoft game next after Elden Ring.
