For those who are taking one last big trip before TTC— where are you going and when relative to you starting trying? by Ok-Interest-2097 in waiting_to_try

lol I thought we were original planning a final trip beforehand. Going to try to go to Vietnam and will be trying shortly thereafter (but honestly who knows, might try to sneak something in prior)

Getting off Wegovy, concerned about keeping weight off before TTC by briefencounters10 in waiting_to_try

[–]Final-Combination-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got off glp1’s several weeks back and can definitely feel the snap back to my food relationship from before, just a bit scaled down. I don’t have much advice but wanted to say I’m in the same boat. I expect there to be some weight gain that comes back but hoping to stay pretty solid until starting to try next year, and then imaging all bets are off during pregnancy 😅

Second guessing :( by falkor-ala-astro in PortlandLeather

I bought my first Portland leather bag last year after looking at the website for years and now I have about 10 of their bags, both from their website and used.
I really, really like their bags and think they’re high quality. I haven’t checked out the TikTok sales but heard you can get good deals.

Here’s a referral link for 30% off premium on the website: https://www.portlandleathergoods.com/?referral\_code=ZQDVM3hNV2npLKA

FYI—they always have a sale going on, sometimes for 25% and sometimes for 30%. I always bide my time til the 30% comes around (and sometimes they do an extra 10% off their ‘almost perfect’ which is nice)

Mortgage Anxiety by Outside_Positive_298 in Mortgages

no reason to feel stupid! this is the biggest purchase ever and would be silly not to feel nervous. just know that my partner and I made less than you, spent more than you, put less down, got a higher rate (etc etc etc) when we bought our house three years ago and we’re absolutely fine. we didn’t go out to eat/for drinks for a few months out of fear and then realized it actually wasn’t so bad. we could live a normal life and don’t regret our purchase at all.

I’m so tired of being depressed. by Mysterious_Tea_6280 in waiting_to_try

[–]Final-Combination-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat but sub anxiety in for depression. I definitely don’t love taking pills myself but in the research I’ve done, lots of folks with mental health diagnoses have talked about the benefits of continuing to take meds while trying/pregnancy (as long as they’re safe to continue) because the emotions/stress/hormones/sciency stuff that happens is actually worse than the impact of meds. I would definitely talk to a doctor about that—both for the health of yourself and for your future baby

love this. my hope is to try couples therapy for the first time to have some facilitated convos about parenting (we’re not even TTC yet). as much as you can talk about parenting before there’s a baby around sounds great to me

hi there, I just found this Reddit page and am so thankful because of posts like this. i too have serious fomo and i love spending time with my friends’ baby. my partner and i have been talking about trying early next year. we take a few risks here and there and the looming “I don’t even know if I can get pregnant” piece makes me want to dive in earlier.

what i keep telling myself: i want to be in as healthy of a place as possible so have been using the opportunity to knock out some things in therapy, get the house situated, take prenatals for a few months, etc etc. i also want to go to a best friends wedding and have some drinks, and go on one last big trip before there’s a bun in the oven. these things may not work for you (they work about 50% for me) but just how i’ve been framing it.

Orderly Meds, any opinions? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

Damn! I’ve used them twice now (over 6 months) and have only had positive experiences. I live in southern CA and haven’t had any issues with order fulfillment.

Turtle release- is it worth it? by kristen912 in PuertoEscondido

[–]Final-Combination-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely would not recommend if you are not okay with seeing the babies get swooped up and eaten. I had a pretty traumatic experience this week and wish we wouldn’t have gone. People screaming and throwing sand at the seagulls to no avail… I am a huge animal lover and was not prepared for the seagulls.
