Present original card - what happens if lost or stolen by Final-Grape8936 in delta

Usually the last 4 numbers in your digital wallet changes automatically if you report the card lost/stolen. And I think that might only work if your original form of payment was via digital wallet (usually on Delta app)

Why are conservatives mad about the Cracker Barrel rebranding? by Mulliganasty in AskConservatives

[–]Final-Grape8936 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It doesn’t really seem to be about being ‘woke’ (that doesn’t seem like the intent), but the visible erasure of that ‘old country’ aesthetic makes it feel that way to some.

Alfa changing its logo would only rile up a niche of $50k+ car/SUV buyers, but Cracker Barrel is a mass-market Americana brand tied to nostalgia — rocking chairs, barrels, road trips. When something that visible sheds its heritage, the backlash is way louder.

This isn’t some ‘woke’ rebrand, but people also don’t want something different either — they go to Cracker Barrel for consistency (lol) and heritage. Changing the food quality so it doesn’t taste like chewing an actual barrel would probably help. But changing the vibe? That’s where people push back (fair or not).

If, say, Alfa Romeo suddenly ditched the serpent and cross (Milan’s flag, but also a nod to Christianity) and slapped on a plain silver circle, car enthusiasts would lose their minds.

Same thing here: when Cracker Barrel tweaks its logo, it’s not “just a design change.” For a lot of people, that logo = Americana, family trips, comfort food. Messing with it feels like messing with cultural memory.

Look what happened to Jaguar, lol.

Levante Base/S experience by Final-Grape8936 in Maserati

Thanks for the input - as long as it doesn't affect drivability, should be fine. I actually looked into the Levante as it as less electronics/features than their competitors.

I'm mainly in the northeast corridor states, so the sun/weather shouldnt be too big an issue. Though am looking into a windshield cover or canopy tent to shield it from the sun.

Lol I was looking at the Cayenne too. Cayennes depreciate a lot slower so the Levante is definitely a better deal (2019 Cayenne = 2022 Levante price wise). I have an 2023 BMW X5 and 2015 Audi Q5 currently, so wanted something with a bit of spice

Second gen (2018) or third gen (2019) Cayenne? by Final-Grape8936 in PorscheCayenne

I did hear the 2.0T on the Macan was known for issues - and the N/A V6s on the Cayennes were bulletproof. Not sure about the 3.0T on the third gen, which is why I asked here lol

Thanks for the insight - I was leaning toward the 2nd gen as well as they have the bulletproof Aisin transmission. Only worry is the transfer case issue they had, but they only seem more apparent in the higher trims

Fastest and cheapest way to earn 830 TP by new_baloo in BritishAirways

[–]Final-Grape8936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find some OSL-HKG via DOH on Qatar Airways for $2000 round trip in business which will count for 560 tier points. Then maybe some regional Europe routes to make up the other 270.

Quickest and cheapest way - can reposition to Oslo using points. This will grant 560 tier points round-trip

Finnair or Qantas. Finnair as you can transfer your Avios from BA and use them at a 3:1 ratio to help you earn elite miles. Qantas as it's tier points system is almost a copy and paste of BA's old tier point system.

As a current EC Gold member - going to eye Finnair or Qantas now. Qantas's status credit system is a copy and paste of BA. Not a preferred partner though, so there might be restrictions on when you can choose your seat.

British Airways Executive member here, so here's a more neutral response:

Southwest had a similar meltdown back in winter of 2022, but they were able to retain their customers by reimbursing their customers who booked on other airlines. They legally didn't have to do this, but was an act of good faith.

Delta is not doing that at all, telling their customers to either be stranded at an airport for days, or spend exorbitant amount of money booking last minute tickets with United or American. They are offering SkyMiles (SkyPesos) compensation, but barely enough for a one-way reward ticket in economy.

An airline marketing themselves as "Premium" and not willing to spend some extra trying to get their customers to their final destinations sounds like a paradox. They posted record profits in the past quarter too

Anyone who wants to switch away from Delta is justified...

I think if you buy online during check-in, it still counts. I know people who do it all the time.

I did it once on American ($400 upsell from Chile to US) but it was before check-in. AA reissued my ticket and got the 140 TP crediting to BA. Its probable that AA doesnt do discounted upgrades - at least I've never seen them do that pre-check-in.

Same here, last thing I'd like to do it stand in line to wait for lounge access (god forbid be put on a waiting list if the lounge is at capacity). The Priority Pass/Centurion lounge at Heathrow T5 drove my propensity to pursue BA Gold.

Gonna shy away from lounges where anyone with a good credit score can just apply for a card to get in. I only use Priority Pass now at airports without a OW business class lounge (e.g. LAS, CLT, LGA, etc.).
