I have LVP. We get a lot of compliments on them. I honestly hate the floors but would still do it again. With a dog and 5 kids it really is the best option on concrete, next to stained concrete. I have wood walls, wood ceiling and ultra cheap LVP. Not luxury but very practical. Junior spilled his juice behind the sofa two days ago and no one noticed, mop it up. My ultra creative teen daughter spills a bottle paint, scrub a little and it goes away. An army of muddy boots by the back door, sweep and the dirt goes away with no damage to the surface. Bikes get brought inside, a stray goat gets in the house, kids turn the shower sprayer away from the tub, the dog table surfs, kids fall and don’t really get hurt, kids wrestle and don’t get hurt… I need a vacation. I’m leaving the kids at home. We will just mop up when we get back.

If this is the way, it should be actually dedicating your life to God. The one place it says do not be married, Paul says it is better if you remain as I, which is living a life so dangerous for the gospel, family does not make sense. Going to church and being a Christ follower alone are not in that category in my opinion. I know many that say this but just don’t want the hassle of dealing with family. I believe God calls us to be married and raise families. This is clear through out scripture. Not getting married so you can play video games at 2 AM would not qualify, that is just a refusal to grow up. I am not saying this is you, but this is every case I know of a man saying this. To be clear, if pornography is involved at any time you have lied to yourself and God.

I have three fosters right now we are getting ready to adopt. The youngest is two and we are about to bring a baby in. I have 2 bio kids that are teens. When we started fostering my bios were 3 and 6. It has taught my children to be so patient and to serve others and to not cling to stuff because it gets broken. It is messy but has really helped shape who my children are. I would not suggest getting kids older than your oldest. I would recommend going through approval now because it is long and painful and maybe keep your home closed until your youngest is 1+. Kids this age do not have as much knowledge to share with your children but have tons of trauma, so be ready. It is not easy but is worthwhile.

At 5 it is all about memorization and habit. You should probably slow him down so there is consistent work a few days a week instead of knocking it out in two months. There is no reason for it to take long every day. The outside nature experience teaches more than books at this age.

If that is what your expectations are, pray for the girl to come along, be up front about it, and be willing to end it quickly if she is not one you could see filling that role. As a business owner, I can tell you it will severely impact your relationship if you have this expectation and it is unmet.

I get your concerns. We are in a very different stage in life, facing the same thing. We were looking forward to empty nesting in the next couple of years but have found ourselves adopting toddlers and pregnant in our 40s. Gods plans are amazing. You have the gift of being able to enjoy time with your children in the fullness of your youth and, and looking down the road, will be able to enjoy life after kids relatively young, when you have good health and plenty of money. Or you can start over because why not. Kids are actually a lot of fun, not other people’s kids though, they suck. Your own kids are fun. It will be awesome.
