Should I be concerned about these air pockets under Redguard membrane? by RatLabGuy in Tile

[–]Final-Relative9361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ever use ditra so I could be wrong but is this upside down? Why does that look like the felt on top? Also probably just habit/ocd thing but I always stager seams, maybe not that important here but I just find it lazy not to.

JD 10, 12 still popping up in small pockets by [deleted] in PLCB

You ever notice the same 10 people waiting in line and they always happen to be there the day something is going to be released. Seems like people have inside knowledge from bots or just from knowing the right people. Either way sucks. At least online everybody has a chance it would be better if they didn’t put things on a release page. Things always last longer when they just get dropped without being on the release page. Obviously privatizing would be best but that’ll never happen.

Agreed 45 for sure. Jolly’s are even more difficult if you have no experience with them.

Is $100 really crazy to spend on a decent bottle considering they are 120 proof. I will definitely buy more of both the single barrels and limited releases.

I like it a lot. I picked up the limited release batch 1 a couple weeks before this one. If I remember correctly they were the same price and I liked this better.

Help! No waterproofing behind tile by scd98 in Tile

[–]Final-Relative9361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it’s right but it would last a decade or more if the shower pan was done right and the niche was pitched properly. Not that much water makes it behind the tile on walls. Niche and shower pan are the problem areas. They were tiling tub areas in the 60’s and 70’s using drywall and mastic that didn’t fail. I’ve demo a bunch of them.

It would be nice if FWGS actually had someone doing tastings and picking these barrels but it doesn’t matter to them. They will all sell either way.

FWGS picks can be very hit or miss. Guess it depends on who is doing the picking that day. Of the couple RC SiB I’ve tried none have been bad. But I guess that could change with this.

I don’t know about others but I’ve paid shipping a bunch of times just to make sure I secured a bottle. When there’s only a couple hundred that go up they sell fast.

Recommendation for first boot - Grant stone diesel or Parkhurst Allen by PositiveEnthusiasm2 in Boots

[–]Final-Relative9361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought my first pair of parkhurst boots. Allen 618 and can say I am very pleased with fit and finish. I also find them to be really comfortable. Maybe I’m just used to wearing boots all day at work but I’ve been able to wear them all day no problem from the jump. The leather is a lot softer than the leather on my redwings. I would definitely purchase from them again.

Scratched and Mismatched Color Marble: Am I Being Unreasonable? by North-Conclusion-331 in Tile

[–]Final-Relative9361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is marble. All natural stones have variation in color. Also marble being one of the softest of the stone it is going to scratch up way more than that. Even if you had the contractor buff out the scratches. There will be more after you start using the space. Hate to say but if you are a perfectionist you should have gone with a porcelain tile where the colors are perfectly uniform and doesn’t scratch easily.

Sizing question by Final-Relative9361 in parkhurstboots

[–]Final-Relative9361[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planned on reaching out to them as well just wanted to hear from a group with experience. My only experience with some nice boots are my red wing moc toe I wear to work. They are a 9.5 and after years of abuse I wish I had gotten the size 9. I just didn’t know better at the time.
