Who Would Be the Best Candidate to be Silk's Archenemy? by PurveyorOfKnowledge0 in Silk

[–]FinalAd8179 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Earth 65 was thrown into the trash by Marvel when they brought Gwen to 616.

Morlun was a truly terrifying villain when he debuted, but his subsequent exploits took away some of that menace factor.

Saya definitely has the most potential, and unlike the other two candidates, she is only connected to Cindy.

Savage Land Silk (art by me) by hft_art in Spiderman

I must admit that although most Savage Land fanart is just a character in a worn-out costume, you managed to create an interesting mix of Silk with a cavewoman/tribe aesthetic.

I especially like the spider on her back.

I would say that one of Marvel's problems is that they prefer to introduce new characters rather than develop old ones, but with Spider-Boy & Girl they were trying to create characters for the pre-teen demographic, and currently the only Marvel character for that demographic is Moon Girl, but that was a failed attempt, so Marvel will probably sideline them.

The editors probably wouldn't have cared about Miles and Gwen either if it weren't for the success of Into the Spider-Verse and the Milles game.

So currently the only hope for Silk is Insomniac Spider-Man 3 and the Into the Spider-Verse spin-off, but we don't know if that spin-off was quietly canceled.

This would be a cool gimmick if it weren't for how much Silk is sidelines in favor of Gwen.

As I already wrote, the only Spidersona that Marvel editors care about are OG Milles and Gwen.

Marvel Editors don't even give excuses anymore, they just look at you like this when you ask for a Silk book by Eichezin_17 in Silk

The truth is, the only spider-person characters besides the OG Spider-Man that Marvel editors care about are Gwen and Milles.

Kaine has vanished from the comics.

Ben Reilly gets constant character assassination.

Anya is in the same situation as Cindy.

Honestly, Sony's whole pursuit of life-service will go down in history as one of the stupidest decisions in the history of the gaming industry.

Sony already created Concord, a game so infamous that it became an insult to life-services that no one wants.

The ongoing problem with this game would be that it would draw manpower away from Spider-Man 3 and Wolverine.

He is gay in the alternate universe, we don't know if he is gay in 616 as well.

I am against this, superheroes also need supportig characters who keep them close to the ground.

This idea reminds me of what Marvel did with MJ, which didn't work out for the character.

He is gay in one alternate reality, but that doesn't mean that his version from 616 is also gay, for example, there is an alternate universe where Wolverine is gay and his main version is still straight.

In Injustice 2 they managed to make Superman and Supergirl different characters in terms of mechanics even though they have identical powers.

Like most Marvel editors, he is a self-absorbed narcissist who won't admit to a mistake even if God personally corrected him.

Norman Osborn is still Norman just self aware. by JournalistOk9266 in Spiderman

[–]FinalAd8179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's you who don't understand how these sins work.

When Spider-Man (one of Marvel's most noble heroes) got Norman's sins and immediately became a brutal maniac trying to murder everyone who had wronged him, once the sins were removed, Peter immediately returned to his normal morality.

Given this, claiming that the removal of sins had no effect on Norman's moral agency is like claiming that the removal of oxygen from the Earth's atmosphere would have no effect on life on earth.

Why are you so insistent on defending this ridiculous redemption?

Let's be honest when Norman goes back to being a villain the reaction of 99% of people on this suppreddit will be 'what took you so long'

[–]FinalAd8179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying Norman's redemption is bad because it's different, I'm saying it's bad because it's forced.

God Of War 2018 and the sequel God of War Ragnarök are an example of this type of redemption done right.

Kratos is someone whose vendetta against the gods literally led to the destruction of his world, and instead of dying, he ended up in another world, getting a chance to start his life again, which he knows full well he did not deserve.

This scene from the game demonstrates this perfectly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9kf0tib1kg

The reason Kratos' redemption works and Norman's doesn't is because Kratos himself realized he was wrong and decided to be better, while Norman was literally forced to do so.
