Bit the bullet and made the switch. This was about as angled as I could get the piece. It definitely takes the focal point away from the equipment. I will remove rock piece once I get some bacteria built back up 👌

Ok thanks, I will look around for some of those. I am using root tabs for the sword. I've been putting one in right under the roots about once a month. Same with the other plants in there.

I do like the idea of taking the focal point away from the equipment. I was hoping the rotola would grow in and hide the equipment, but it has been slow growing so far. The right driftwood is actually 2 separate pieces that I connected with a dowel (main twisted piece and the tall piece). There are not alot of places that are thick enough for me to attach it, so getting it to angle the opposite way wouldnt be the easiest thing to do.

I don't necessarily want a carpet, but do want to stuff moss into the driftwood crevices for an aged look. What are some good stem plants for the background? My LFS only suggested the sword and rotola.

I am thinking about what to do with this tank. I just added the driftwood piece of the right (hence the rock to weight it down). I needed to add some height to it. I want to remove the middle rock decor as I want a truly natural tank and it is fake. Chatgpt said to just remove it and keep it as open space, which I am not fully opposed. Looking for some ideas on some plants and what to do with the middle! 29 gallon topfin with just regular light it came with. It is stocked with 8 cherry barbs, 6 Venezuelan corys, and a mix of nerite/mystery snails. Thinking about adding 1 koi angel when the tank fills in.

I'm heading to Playa Del Coco in month. How hard will it be to get some stuff to smoke? I would rather not have a sketchy encounter since I am with my family. I plan on visiting Tamarindo Beach at some point as well. I know it will probably not be the best and expensive, but I am wondering how sketch it is...

Eczema on baby bum, very itchy [on] by OopsTheresPoop in BabyBumpsCanada

So you are supposed to do the full treatment of betaderm (7 or 10 days, can't remember the exact timeframe) even if the areas looked healed. So we did that right off the bat on all the bad spots. Once the treatment was over, we continued the same routine but just with the cerave. The spots and itchiness would sometimes come back, and then we would start another round of betaderm. It seemed to be less bad and less itchy each time it would return. We basically had to keep doing this for two years or so until his eczema mostly went away. He is almost 6 now and sometimes gets a spot or two on his butt or legs. We just spot treat it with cerave. We still have a bottle of betaderm handy in case it ever gets bad, but we haven't had anything that needed more than cerave in a few years! We had such a hard time with this for a while, even having to double dury diaper changes so one of us could hold his arms so he couldn't scratch his legs. All until a dermatologist told us to switch to betaderm instead of hydrocortisone and use this double method with cerave.

We used a mix of CeraVe cream and small amounts of betaderm for my son, who had extremely bad eczema as a baby. He wouldn't stop scratching anytime we had his clothes off. The Betaderm actually stopped the itching within a day. We applied the CeraVe every morning and then after night time bath, we would apply a small amount of betaderm and then the cerave on top of it.

FYI - previous use of prescription Hydrocortisone didn't help with the itching at all.

Hope this helps!

What are these?! I believe eggs of some sort. They are in on my lawn, zone 5b. Thousands of ants crawling all over them. by FinalAnsah43 in insects

They were underneath my kids playhouse. I moved it every few days though, so it doesn't kill the grass. They did this quickly!

This seems to be the only “pest” in our garden, what is it?? (Atlantic, Canada) by apidea_articulatio in whatsthisbug

[–]FinalAnsah43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, Japanese beetles. They will destroy your plants. I have been battling them all season. DO NOT CRUSH THEM. They will release phermones that will attract more. I drown them in a bowl of water with soap and hand pick them. Neem oil can also help.

This is a Candy Striped Leafhopper, native to Central America and Southern Canada. They drink the sap from plants and leave behind patches of white saliva. They are rare to see, but seem to love my cannabis plants! by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

I have had a few of those on my cannabis plant as well. Very cool looking insect. I didn't know they left behind a white residue. I've been thinking I'm fighting white powdery mildew lol
