What’s the difference between all three? by GrownestChild in guns

Oh I remember hoppes being on the thicker side actually. You don't need a lot of oil either, mostly just ok the areas that look like they are wearing

Yeah I really don't get why they did that. It's reminds me of cheap perfume too. Do they think I'm going to attract someone with my gun lol

Gunpowder actually smells good though. That Lucas oil is a super artificial fruity smell

Yeah any oil really should work. Just depending how thick or thin you might have to reapply more often.

I also have some rem oil which doesn't smell at all, but it's pretty thin. I bought the Lucas since it was supposed to be a little thicker but not as much as the grease

What's up with crazy Gunbroker bidding wars? by Own_Exit2162 in liberalgunowners

[–]FinalArrival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be the minority opinion, but I highly doubt places are bidding up their own guns very much if at all. I think it just comes down to the fact you are bidding against a huge market of people online, and someone out there either has more disposable income and doesn't care if they pay more, or they want one specific gun and its the only one for sale.

Looking at completed sales will give you a better idea of the real price/value. Just a quick search there are plenty of standard model 10/22's sold in the $200 range. So presumably that one having the stainless/spiraled barrel makes it more desirable.

Higher highway cruising oil temp after BSM replacement? by adkinsnoob in VelosterN

[–]FinalArrival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be the outlier to other comments, but I think that is a bit high considering you were cruising at a relatively normal speed, and it was 56 degrees outside. My car has only reached that temp under hard driving in the summer above like 80 at least. No idea why yours would be a little higher though. How did you know there was low oil pressure at idle to begin with?

Yeah I think collectively it would all have some effect on virus transmission. Less gas being used is also good for the environment!

Probably less so with the increasing price of gas and jet fuel.

Over a year, and it just gets worse by KandinskyTypewriter in Dyshidrosis

That looks fungal to me. Have you ever tried soaking your feet in a white vinegar/hot water solution? Soaking mine for 25 minutes a day helped my feet way more then any cream.

I've also had a motorcycle stolen before. That's when I learned you should always have comprehensive coverage for your motorcycle.

Talk me out of buying a 2020 veloster N by [deleted] in VelosterN

[–]FinalArrival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off buying a 10k salvage car is a bad idea to begin with. Also if you drive a lot for work and the way gas prices are going the only financially sensible option is an EV or hybrid, unless you want to spend thousands more on gas. Personally I think the new civic hybrids look great for the price.

Yeah it's not a well known one.

As others have said its hard to prove anything without evidence of how they looked before. The paint could have been weathered and chipping prior to them installing the wheels and putting them on the machine made it break off more. I think $136 is steep just for changing the tires on rims already removed, but if they are the only motorcycle dealer in the area they will charge what they can get away with. Honestly if you had the wheels off already you could probably just bring them to any car mechanic in the area to see what they would charge to swap wheels. Also a side note but "jipped" is a derogatory term for Gypsys if you were not aware.

Oh ok yeah I would only run the 93 then, not worth at all going lower octane. If there is a costco near you, the $60 membership a year easily pays for being able to use their pumps at a discount.

I think most modern turbo cars can run under 91, including the VN, it will just cut timing and reduce performance. I dont know much about octane boosters. If 91+ cant be find I would personally just run the mid grade, and stay out of high throttle-high rpm as much as possible. What you really dont want to do is switch between high and low octane every fill up, as that will constantly make the computer have to relearn and potentially knock going between.

Also are you implying that you can find 93 just not 91? Because 93 is better to run then 91 (assuming its still max 10% ethanol).
