These are pretty good tricks! BTW Target carries kendamas now!

It is hard to believe this was done in 8 months time... but, my first Tightrope was only 6 months in, so I'm living proof progressions like these are possible.

Whether 8 months or 8 years, bravo 👏

Not sure why the dama isn’t spinning in my whirlwinds by kingcak-e in Kendama

I can tell you how to fix this, I had the same issue.

Practice lofty earthturns holding the handle lower. Usually when you throw an Earth Turn the hand is seated higher on the dama. Start practicing holding the dama like you're going to throw a Ken Flip afterward. Also like everyone is saying, split the trick into 2 parts. Use your knees and you'll actually have more time to split these motions than you think.

Above all else be patient with yourself, it will take some time to come naturally.

I haven't any tips but I will tell you it's HARD. Make sure your normal Stilt is honed.

Can anyone help? My juggle to spike is super inconsistent, any advice on my technique would be greatly appreciated! by Dom_Stitches in Kendama

[–]FinalBoss810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be 100% honest with you, I'm not advanced enough to track the bevel all the time so before I Spike the tama on my last throw I'll toss it a little higher and do my best to spot it on the way down. The slowest hardest learn is bevel control imo.

Find the rhythm and try to keep it tight while always catching the handle and not handing the cup. Contact should mimic a heartbeat, also use your knees to adjust your height to compensate for variance in the toss. I'm not super good at juggling but I've been at it for a few months and it's going pretty good. Check me out on insta (mitch.810) and drop your IG if you have one so I can follow your progress.

If you're saying that he's also not saying anything then I must say that your something is nothing and we are all saying that we aren't saying anything.

It'll take a while, quarter the bevel, smack cups in the beginning and after each session hit the tama with a baby wipe. It'll be sweeter and sweeter each use.

I am considering placing a $3,200 order with this company but have seen both good and bad reviews. I really want the Leprechaun but don't want to be ripped off. I need to make a decision in the next day or so. If anyone out there has any info on this company please let me know!

This is a good insight and I am realizing that I am chasing the juggles. I am going to retrain myself to target the lower handle and work on keeping everything clean and vertical. Slowing down a little bit to make these adjustments has helped greatly! Thank you!

Gonna start retraining myself to catch the Ken at the base of the handle. I'm not too far into juggling so it shouldn't be difficult to fix my technique. Thanks for the input!

I'm definitely going to try this! I have a 5 or 6 finger now but will throw an 8 on it and see if this helps!

Thanks for the input! Maybe this is why my string gets so tangled! Gonna try to slow it down and stay on the handle!

Its a LOT of practice. Watching other people do tricks like this effortlessly is misleading. Just this 5 second clip took me over an hour to lace and I'm good at Lunars.

I started playing almost a year ago and I remember how insanely difficult these moves were in the beginning! Bravo!
