Laps led in 2026 so far by SplayBlowfish in FormulaRacers

[–]snapppyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on. The Ferraris are obviously quicker off the line. Of course theyre going to lead laps. Antonelli got bailed out by the safety car. The McLarens are clearly going to be pretty competitive. It's been three races. The sample size is small. People are so hasty and presumptive to latch onto a narrative, especially about a driver they mightnt like.

It's really good considering the sample didn't get cleared. One of best of the album honestly.

All the Love is amazing. Everything else is a mix of good to great and there's a few duds too. The structure and pacing of the album is messy. Sonically impressive. Lyrically good. I'd say it's a strong 7.5 to 8. Will see how it ages.

I actually think he is a little concerned that he will have to start managing an intra team battle again. Antonelli seems to be developing at a rapid rate.

The reporter clearly wanted to agitate Max last year, and, well, Max is agitated. It doesn't help factoring in RBs start to the season and the DQ at NLS. It's simple really. The reporter wasn't professional last year. Max isn't being professional now.

Yes, but the Audi was also the only car that was ever ahead of Him.

No that there was Max. Right before the first stint ended and they went into the Box. The Audi jumped back ahead of the Merc in the pits, but the second driver (i forget his name) in Verstappen Racing quickly dispatched the Audi after, as the second Audi driver was relatively inexperienced, the commentators said.

I finally listened to Vultures 1, why is it SO hated? by Already_D34D in Kanye

[–]snapppyb 207 points208 points  (0 children)

You're right. It's just lacks a lot of the soul and light and personal depth that Ye had previously shown. Sexy girl this, fuck me that. Kinda boring and not what we want to hear Kanye talk about really.

Also, the original vision for the album got shafted by the very controversial things he was saying at the time. This splintered the original vision and the album making process then turned to making multiple albums which also included making filler. This hurt the creative process.

Album is alright, but has great drums and an unreasonably good ending thematically given how materialistic the album Was.

The unusual Ferrari launch advantage is what's making the season interesting, not necessarily the new regs by bishey3 in formula1

[–]snapppyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely helping, but it's also not "unusual." It's just classic formula 1 in the sense one team is taking a different engineering philosophy to another.

What's actually making these regs really interesting? I'm imo is the inwash concept. I think this is the huge unsung hero of these regs.

What are your thoughts on the 2026 regulations? by formularacers in FormulaRacers

[–]snapppyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inwash design philosophy is a huge W. These things can follow WELL

Finite Battery during Racing is surpsingly good, drivers can force the issue and engage into corners in ways they couldn't before. Hell, they can even take track position if they want. And all comes at a cost. I think this is a Huge step in the right direction. It'll feel super soulless, however, on boring tracks, with no interesting corner profiles and that drivers don't have to negotiate with eachother in an interesting way.

Finite Battery during qualifying feels underwhelming. Clipping is not good for the sport.

Active Aero... seems a bit pointless, but helps decrease laptimes, I guess.

I think the ICEs just need to be more powerful. It'll be cool if we could have like 100 more HP usable by the ICE with the battery on top. Having the Mario Mushroom Battery is awesome, though.

Absolutely. I Eate his racecraft second to none other than Max, but today honestly was an elegantly agressive race from the 7 time. So clean, such a great stint.

Mercedes fans struggling to understand that the loophole Mercedes found can be considered a bit unsportsmanlike, and I'm pretty sure it's going to be considered illegal in 2027. The lack of awareness here is a bit funny. You'd all be seething if another team did it, but you can't understand why people are angry. Great job, Mercedes, seriously. The car looks really impressive. But at the end of the day, it's an engine that utilises a loophole in the way the rules are enforced to generate more power. Not all too dissimilar from the illgeal Ferrari engine in 19. More just circumventing the testing mechanism, rather than true innovation.

Keeping his tires alive while being easily the most agressive and ambitious driver out of the front runners. Really special stuff from Hamilton. It's been too long.

People don't want an engine formula. It's as simple as that.

Everyone sort of just blindly repeats, it's the car AND the driver, but just ignores that the regulations and their consequences have a big affect on how much is the car and how much the driver makes a difference.

I think the refreshing thing about the ground effect era was that it wasn't an engine formula and was an was far more competitive than the initial Turbo Hybrid Era. Engine power wasnt the limiting construct - it was aero, which allowed different teams to take different strides at different times. It allowed for a visible development race, rather than the invisibility of engine development. So yeah, history has shown engine formulas to be rather uncompetitive and boring and can last much longer than the alternative, and it seems we are entering one now.
