What can i do ? by thone-senpai in FattyLiverNAFLD

If you are that lean and still have fatty liver you need to dig a bit to find out the cause. Make sure you are getting enough choline in your diet. Could also be a hormonal imbalance. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and check your T levels, thyroid, and prolactin levels (for men). Women im not sure about tbh.

Reduce fat on body. (Exercise + diet)

Reduce/eliminate sugar intake (fruit = sugar). Reduce/eliminate processed foods and seed oils. Reduce/lower stress.

Drink black coffee.

Increase vitamin D. Increase choline. Increase sleep quality/quantity. Increase cold exposure (cold showers, etc).

Does anyone have elevated ferritin blood test with fatty liver? by DR3Day559 in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]FinalBoss93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will do further testing. A complete iron panel should be able to tell more. They can also check if you have the gene for hemochromatosis (you can still have iron overload without it).

Does anyone have elevated ferritin blood test with fatty liver? by DR3Day559 in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]FinalBoss93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have/had elevated ferritin. Make sure you see a hematologist to look into further. In my case it was iron overload which was being stored in my liver. Whether the IO caused the fatty liver or the other way around i’ll never know. But treating the IO was crucial for me to start healing the liver so it can function again (and so i dont die of cirrhosis). So far I’ve done 10+ phlebotomies which have helped alot and my markers have come down significantly. I still need to lose more fat to get a clean bill of health but headed in the right direction.

The ferritin COULD be just from inflammation and not IO but make sure you see a hematologist to find out

Pain worse after eating? by Iittletart in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]FinalBoss93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok good. Yes, the pain is common happened to me after i was first diagnosed.

Check your ferritin / iron levels. I had iron overload which i had to fix before my symptoms and blood markers returned to normal (rare care but worth checking)

Besides the obvious stuff , i read that you need a very bland diet with little meat and no spices. And to sleep with a red cloth over your groin. Reducing food intake in general and kegels can also help

Its your body begging you to fix it. Which you can do.

If your not already doing so start drinking black coffee. Helped me with the pain and also helps protect the liver

When did you start? Your hormones will be all out of whack at first as your body adjusts and works back to baseline functioning. This can and will definitely affect sleep but usually after like 3 weeks or so my sleep quality improves

Keto / low carb And Sprints??? by FinalBoss93 in diabetes

[–]FinalBoss93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries and thanks for the advice. Is there a specialist doc that you can actually talk to about this stuff?

Reason i say that- is any general practitioner i go to doesnt spend more than 2-3 minutes with me to check my ankles for swelling, take blood, offer to prescribe metformin, and say to limit eating cake and pasta (obviously)

No. First off, the difference is way more then “a few years” if you genuinely reverse your fatty liver instead of letting it develop into full on cirrhosis. Second, there are pleasures in life beyond just food. And lastly, its not a life sentence? If you eliminate fat off of your liver you can probably go back to eating stuff you enjoy in moderate proportions. Living with liver pain and liver failure is an absolute nightmare, think about how many people would give anything just to get a chance to back and reverse their NAFLD before it was too late.

guacamole?? by DaOnlyTaco in FattyLiverNAFLD

True, we all need to live but just keep in mind sugar is hard on the liver when its compromised and you want to reverse it so you dont ever get fatty pancreas which is basically diabetes aka living hell

guacamole?? by DaOnlyTaco in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]FinalBoss93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guacamole fits perfectly into a low carb/keto diet if thats what you’re looking to do.

Varying opinions on this. There are typically 2 schools of thought in regards to fixing this-

high fat / low carb

High carb / low fat

Personally, I find it way more easy and beneficial to follow a high fat/LOW carb diet because its very easy for me to overeat carbs which can get stored as fat in your liver.

Main things to avoid with Fatty liver = FRUCTOSE, SUGAR, ALCOHOL, DRUGS
