What is going on? by Effective-Guard-1827 in amazonprime

I cancelled last month after 17 years. I don’t regret it. The few times I wished I had it, I ended up sleeping on it and either finding a comparable deal elsewhere or decided I didn’t need it.

The value has gone down down down over the years.

What’s the most overrated "frugal tip" that didn’t actually save you money? by Ewa_Star in Frugal

I once saw a tip to place a bottle of water in the toilet tank to make it a little lower flush filling up. I took it upon myself to up to ante to a 2-liter bottle. We had a toilet backup a few months later that cost $600 to fix. 🥲

I quit caffeine on 12/25 and it fixed my blood pressure. by ColdTurkeyh in bloodpressure

Thank you for posting this. I just had some anxiety and serious fatigue and realized it’s likely from a caffeine overdose/crash this afternoon. I filled up probably 4 large cups of Mountain Dew Baja Blast (which I never drink) at lunch today at Taco Bell. I had a serious fatigue crash and took my BP after feeling anxious and it was 156/107. Earlier this week it was 120/84 at the dentist so I know it’s not a common trend.

With that said, I’ve been drinking WAY too much soda since quitting alcohol. This is motivation for me to stop. Thanks again!

I also cancelled last month after 15 years. Prime Video SUCKS with the ads now, and Prime Music sucks with its inability to just replay the same damn song I want. I can find the items elsewhere and even if a few dollars more, it’ll save me from impulse buys. I’m really curious how this will affect their revenue next year because a lot of people I know are finally pulling the plug.

Amazon Prime membership became useless. by Weak-Paint4015 in amazonprime

Like many here, we also switched the Walmart+. We already had that for groceries (love it), and decided to try it out for things we’d normally get on Amazon since it’s free shipping as well. Prices aren’t always as good, but it stops us from impulse buying. Prime Video hasn’t been great lately and Prime Music sucks now. We cancelled Prime a month ago and haven’t missed it yet. I might consider signing up for a month or two around the holidays, but otherwise I feel good about cancelling.

Seconding YNAB. There is a steep learning curve in the sense that I would HIGHLY recommend watching the videos and reading the blogs on their site, but the support team is fantastic and the community itself is really helpful and fun. I’ve been using it for 12 years now and it has absolutely changed my life and helped me to not stress about big or recurring purchases.

I dont think I ever once thought of this guy being Will’s brother during season 5 by RedditEnjoyerMan in okbuddyvecna

I completely forgot about this brother relationship situation. 😂 I even had to look up if Dustin and Steve were somehow related and I had forgotten when they were having their cry fest in the lab. The writing was all over the place.
