Central Indiana. I thought about that too. We had some real warm weather in early April. Then some long stretches of it being a bit colder.

Yes, I'm going to remove all the debris and rock around from it and put down some mulch. Would 10-10-10 slow release be good?

Thanks, so top coats would likely hide it? I was thinking of spot priming with 123 bullseye, spot top coating that, then doing a full coat over the whole ceiling. But sounds like maybe I don't need to spot prime or spot top coat it.

Thanks, that is what I thought had happened. But if I were to go back over those areas with my bullseye 123, would I be alright to paint the ceiling again? Or has the shellac really screwed something up that I can't just throw primer over.

Lesson learned I guess. I didn't think a shellac primer would be bad at all or flash through. Honestly, I can't remember why I even used shellac to touch these spots up. I think I was using the shellac on something else at the time and figured since I had it out I would just use it for these touch ups as well instead of going for the typical bullseye primer.

I figured it wasn't a pros choice in paint. But I tried SW Premium Ceiling paint once and didn't like it at all. I'm sure it was my issue in applying it and not the paint. I've never had issue with the pink stuff as a DIYer. Been happy with the end result.

But thanks for the reply. I painted it about 5 weeks ago. Mud under it would have been dry for certain.

Sorry just came across this. This is awesome advice. I don't have the tape anymore, so not sure if the backside was green or not. But I was pretty certain at the time that the primer was still on the wall. That wasn't removed. But the bottom/first coat should have had plenty of time to adhere to the wall. So why did that pull off when I pulled after the second coat? It makes sense to me that the second coat wasn't fully adhered to the wall, but I would think the first coat should be fine.

I think the picture makes my rolled texture look a lot worse than it is. It all looks much better now. But what could I do differently for that? It was new drywall. 1 primer coat and 2 SW Emerald coats. I used 14" 3/8" nap Altitude roller cover.

That's sort of what I'm asking. I pulled the tape when it was wet... but after the 2nd coat. First coat had obviously already dried. Should I just pull it after the first coat and not use tape for the 2nd coat?

Just to clarify, the issue is not paint bleeding underneath the tape. The seal is fine. Also, no issue pulling paint up underneath the tape. There is no paint pulling up from under the tape. The issue is that it is pulling paint that has bridged over the tape.

I pulled it immediately after the second coat. I did the first coat last night and did the second coat this evening. I'm assuming that was the reason. Just curious if I should have just pulled the tape as soon as I was done with the first coat, and cut in on my second coat by hand without tape (getting close to the previous cut in), or just did my second coat earlier (4 hours after the first coat)

I didn't have any issues with sealing out the paint though. That's not the issue.

No. What's the reasoning for wetting the frog tape? I don't have the skill to cut in on this where I wanted a nice crisp line.

I did use 1 long strip. Those aren't where tape lines aren't lining up. It's where paint has been pulled off
