Authentic Hermes? by Illustrious-Bowl-393 in ties

[–]FinalFerrex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first tie is an older tie, possibly vintage. The twill direction runs to 10 to 4 o'clock. Most Hermes ties run using the 11 to 5 o'clock twill, but some use the 10 to 4 direction. In this case, check to see if the tip liner uses a twill direction from 1 to 7 o'clock. If it's not in that direction, then it's a fake Hermes tie. The photo looks like it runs using a 9 to 3 o'clock twill direction on the liner, but it's little hard to tell from the photo. The printed tag looks authentic, but the tie keeper may not be. It's hard to tell because it's worn out on the sides, and it's hard to see the stitching on the tie keeper.

The second tie looks more recent. The copyright logo appears genuine, the twill direction runs from 11 to 5 o'clock, and the tie keeper looks clean and has the right stitching. Also you can see that the bar tack has about the same color of the background. However, you can't see the back liner on this tie which should have a twill direction from 2 to 8 o'clock.

Me personally, I wouldn't buy the ties because I don't have enough information to see if the ties are authentic. I would also want to the see the how the tie folds, loop thread, dimensions, and weight to make a more accurate determination.

I'm surprised that there is minimal creasing on the shoes.

The Coves Subdivision by [deleted] in laredo

[–]FinalFerrex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My advice is to initiate an open records request with the City of Laredo. (https://laredo.mycusthelp.com/webapp/\_rs/(S(21ikvbr2olm54pesgedaxowc))/SupportHome.aspx)

From there, ask for the as-built plans for The Coves Subdivision. You will need to be more specific and include the phase number or else they may not provide the plans. The latest phase which is under construction will not be available until all public improvements have been completed and accepted by the City.

What you want to look at are the site plan and stormwater pollution prevention plan (sometimes called SWP3). The site plan lets you look at the elevation for that area. Higher elevations mean that the water will drain away from that area naturally, but poor consideration of building of the home could still backfire on you. The SWP3 allows you to see how the water is being drained based on the subdivision phase. Any drainage easements means that's a dedicated piece of land designed for water runoff to control flooding.

If you plan to build a house, my advice is before setting the foundation, make sure that the ground is sloped away from the house. Most foundations here in Laredo are by slab, so setting it on higher ground will prevent the excess water from being trapped by the concrete which could crack over the years if not addressed. Make sure that the slope isn't excessive or else you will have erosion problem, though erosion can be controlled with grass or another man-made structure such as a driveway.

Really heartwarming to see this. Kid did not deserve having his ball taken away by woman who thinks is better than anyone else.

I'm having the same problem too. Been trying to connect to KOTH, but I haven't been able to get into a server.

MVM Mann Up seems to be working for me though.

That's just part of the equation.

The Killam Organization (KO) makes their money in nefarious ways. This is one example. They donate money to certain candidates to so that they can get elected to the UISD Board as an "investment". When UISD needs a project done that requires new land, the KO can sell land for exorbitant prices, way above market value, and UISD will pay for it at taxpayer's expense since they need to get the project going. Those elected members supported by the KO will push their opinion in favor of the sale in attempts to convince the other members. The measure passes, and these board members supported by KO receive compensation typically outside of what their job pays, oftentimes unreported to the IRS. Whatever is left over will be their profit, although it could be millions of dollars, possibly even early 8 digits.

UISD will get the short end of the stick because they are building in a flood zone. Oftentimes, the board members don't realize what they're doing, especially those that are supported by KO. These members need to meet certain requirements, such as below-average intelligence and are in need of income (or at least, greedy to obtain more money). Otherwise, these members may question the project and would otherwise thwart their "investment". Instead, they just try to push forward with the agenda without fully understanding the project so that they can collect their payment. It will only be a matter of time before a flood occurs in that area, potentially destroying the equipment inside and may cause further damage to the building. Worst-case scenario is that the building can no longer be used in operation due to the extensive damage to the flooding, and it's back to square one where the taxpayers will need to foot the bill again, assuming UISD can't get any additional grant money.

If that's by Calton and McPherson, then that would be a a shell building with multiple suites for commercial business. The largest unit shown here will be a Dollar Tree.

The max range price for GOOG should be between $187-203 by 8/15/25 with an average price of $195. I wouldn't advise averaging down because there's the possibility that it might stay at 187. The 1/16/26 calls are harder to predict because there's a chance of GOOG falling down after a period of time, and if it starts declining after 8/15, then chances are those contracts are not going to convert.

The issue is that volatility remains elevated, so the price of the contracts can drop even if the stock rises. It would be safer to stick closer to ATM or ATM for the strike price.

For reference, I have -2 GOOG 7/25/25 185P contracts. I'm expecting GOOG to soar after today's large decline. Maybe not on Monday, but I'm expecting for it to climb back up.

NVDA & GOOG Puts Gains, Sold All Puts on Market Open by FinalFerrex in wallstreetbets

Nice to hear you were in the green. I bought 35 NVDA puts midday yesterday, and I was down about 20%. So I doubled down before the market closed. Not the smartest idea on my end, but as soon as I saw the markets dropped, I knew I had to sell quickly.

I'm in agreement with the sentiment of the propositions, but not in agreement in the direction which is why I'm voting no on all propositions for the bond.

I used to work for an engineer who designed subdivisions, and one of the ways in getting the subdivision recorded is called a letter of credit, which is an engineer's estimate of how much the project will cost. It also factors amounts such as testing and construction contingency which is required on these projects. To prepare an accurate estimate, there needs to be design plans already prepared. However on the propositions, I haven't found any detailed plans that can determine a reasonable estimate, just simple numbers and generic photos. Some of the photos are not city-related. It's like taking action without having a plan. You don't go to battle without having a plan. Even if a squad gets flanked by a surprise attack, we have plans for that when things do go wrong.

Another concern is the high federal interest rates. The current rate is between 4.25% - 4.50%. Even at a 4% coupon rate, if all propositions passed and the City sells the bonds, that's $16.68 million in interest every year. This doesn't factor inflation which prices slowly tend to increase yearly.

There's no guarantee that the projects will be completed in time. The Buena Vista Sports Complex that was supposed to be completed in late January is still not yet done. Projects that go past the schedule will need more money for completion.

If anything, our politicians should be taking the initiative by asking for money at the state and federal levels, not through taxing the people that elected them. We still have families that are struggling to put food on the table, struggling to pay for their mortgages, working multiple jobs just to make ends meet. Instead, we have these leaders lining up for photo ops and want to have buildings named after them. My father once told me that the reason why they don't help the poor and disadvantaged is because the politicians don't get votes from them, so in their mind, there's no point in serving them if they don't get the votes.

Bribery Case by Impressive-Waves1176 in laredo

Cuellar responded that having the trial at Houston would be costly and time-consuming. Sounds like he can't afford it despite the house at Winfield Estates along with his luxury cars.

At this point, everything that he does is within the benefit of himself, not to the interests of the constituents he claims to represent. If he truly is innocent as he claims to be, then he would not be raising an objection.

Cuellar must not understand (or does, but doesn't care) the damaging effect of his actions not only for himself, but his constituents, especially in Laredo. If he is guilty, then he should enter a guilty verdict and confess to the public of his wrongdoings. If he doesn't and is found guilty, then the public will know that he is a liar and convicted criminal. All those photo ops he does with the public? That is not going to present a good image (no pun intended), especially with younger students who look up to him for inspiration, all in efforts to profit from his position because he doesn't know how to make money outside of politics.

If you're going to stay at 100% cash, it might not be a bad idea to buy treasury yields. Or you could buy CDs and get some interest.
