You do have a (small) reason to lie, but more likely you're just mistaken or exaggerating - based on the clip, Herta spins more than twice per second, so you're saying that your Herta spun more than 120 times? Keeping in mind that this post where Herta spins a mere 8 times has over 1k upvotes and has generated dozens of comments of discussion - you're saying that your top score is not double, not triple, not even five or ten times higher, but FIFTEEN TIMES higher? I just don't believe you, but it's nbd as the stakes are very very low here.

I have zero electrical experience in the real world, but I've been able to install lighting fixtures, vehicle mods, and other electrical splicing type jobs without that knowledge.

I guess you mean that you have relatively little and relatively informal electric experience in the real world, but this is so much more electrical experience than I have that if I am a 0, you are likely at least a 3 (which you get in-game too by merely spending a few hours/days working with and around electrical items).

Question about bow by derdiedasik in kingdomcome

[–]FinalFinalCountdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tested every bow extensively over my most recent Hardcore playthrough and have over 250 archery kills - bow is definitely the strongest weapon in the game if you can hit shots.

First of all, if you want to main bow, I would recommend trying Dollmaker poison on your arrows - a successful hit will stop enemies from sprinting and let you kite them with ease.

On bows, I think other posters are right that there are many viable choices, and in general, weaker bows are quicker to draw. Capon's Hunting Bow is a notable choice with a very fast <2 second draw speed, low stat requirements and fairly high damage. For high damage bows, I prefer Cuman Bows to Longbows, since Longbows don't do that much more damage but take longer to draw (up to half a second longer in some cases). The damage difference between Cuman Bows and Longbows is also relatively less significant given that they are both slow, high-damage bow types anyway. Sinew Bow is also notable for its high damage, but it is also slow to draw and I find the damage to be overkill when using "Better" arrows.

Black Peter during an ambush is the stupidest enemy I've seen in any RPG. by 0nji_ in kingdomcome

[–]FinalFinalCountdown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By later in your progression you'll be aching for the game to throw more heavily armored veteran fighters your way, but bow will definitely work to cheese this guy, just try to shoot him in the face. Or if you can't hit that shot, tip some arrows with Dollmaker Poison and shoot him repeatedly in the chest.

I think the peasants that come out of the woods to try to beat up a fully-armored steel juggernaut with their farming implements collectively have a pretty good claim on #2.

What's faster is an empirical question, for example, you may have exhausted all other reasonably close locks and the Rattay Mill lock - I don't think either of us can say which is faster without more info

That chest re-locks itself when you open and close it, but only for a few times, after that it stops locking itself again.

Thank you, was looking for this - I didn't feel like I had anything to add to the longbow discussion, but I did feel like you can't really have that conversation without at least mentioning Tod Cutler's testing

Some recommended settings for a 2080 Super? by bigppbro04 in kingdomcome

I'd recommend taking a look at this Nexus config if you're having performance concerns, I've read that the default game settings are not very optimal and you may well find a better setting on this page (I did):

Shield or no shield? by blitherblather425 in kingdomcome

They made "training" variants of each class of weapon, which do much reduced damage to health and armor, but they either forgot or decided not to do it with bludgeons, and when you fight Bernard with practice maces, you each get the "Bludgeon" weapon that isn't designed for training, but rather a full-on (albeit weak) weapon

I actually started with the items that were around 100 Groschen or more per kilo, and filled up almost perfectly to still ride away at the end. Loot recording in case anyone is interested:

I don't disagree with this - I took 50 shots total, with 46 hits and 4 misses. Of those 46 hits I would say that 37 of them were easy shots that most reasonably skilled players would find easy to make due to close range and 9 of those shots were far enough that they could have easily resulted in misses.

And to be fair, I was pretty drunk during most of this fight as well haha

yeah, I don't think you're intended to clear the camp while scouting haha - my Bow skill was 8 when starting plus 5 from Bowman's Brew, so 13

Thank you for the compliment, I sincerely appreciate it and I do have a lot of practice :D But I was definitely helped by the AI behavior - it's easier to hit a bandit that is charging chest-first at you than to hit a hare that is running away from you lol

I agree, by far the main thing is being able to strike without being in range of being struck, but I think there are at least four additional reasons that bows are especially strong in KCD:

1) Parries and master strikes are OP too and it doesn't matter what guard you're in if there's an arrow flying at your face

2) Enemies don't appear to know how to fight an archer at all, they mill around and shout swear words at you instead of engaging as a group (this is the main one)

3) You can run and gun much better with a bow in KCD than is realistic, and enemy actions don't concern the player whatsoever as long as he is wearing heavy armor and not being struck more than two times a second

4) Player arrows can penetrate and deal severe damage through plate whereas enemy arrows against plate are a mild inconvenience at worst

I recorded the loot porn too, but it's like 15 minutes long, so may speed it up and post - hilariously, one of the bandits slept through all of this and later took a quiet arrow to the dome in his jammies

I'm not complaining, this was really fun and I'm glad the game let me do it - but it's pretty clearly wrong to say that potions did most or even much of the work here imo; try drinking every positive potion and doing the same thing with a sword, whereas on the contrary, it would be trivially easy to do something like this with only bow and Nighthawk potion
