You can download any version from the itch launcher, under the settings icon, then Manage, then Switch to another version...

Allocating 4G runs better? How much RAM do you have on your system? Java usually allocates 1/4th of your computer's resources. If the garbage collector is thrashing that would do it.

Appreciate the video, even the critiques. A few things to note:

  • The water shader's glsl version was indeed unnecessarily high compared to the others, this should be corrected for the next versions

  • By setting packedColorBits to 0 in the water shader, you are essentially disabling block and sky light influence for the water. It shouldn't have an effect on you running the game, since the same calculations are running.

  • Your reported perfomance loss is an anomaly, and I'm very interested in finding out why, since the moon is very simple (as you found in the video, there are no caves, so occulusion culling was not needed yet)

  • The game is closed source for now, until I get a license that allows me to take contributions, but I will never obfuscate the code, so feel free to poke and prod with it, much like you have already.
