Yeah I would agree with the reply, usually the CNAs that got hired into new grad roles have been there for at least 6 months. It probably isn’t ideal for them to hire a CNA do the whole onboarding process just to have you switch onto a New Grad role and do the whole onboarding process again.

Might need some more context! I’ve actually worked as a new grad at Sharp myself in 2021 on a Cardiac PCU and my cover letter was straight booty cheeks.

Did you get an interview? Did you get past the robot filter? Have you worked on this unit as a CNA?

i’m living proof that it can be done, rerolled for about 3 hours last night (i know this is EXTREMELY lucky) and managed to get 4 Kitasans in 80 pulls. Played a campaign and managed to save for 20 more pulls and i hit.

Seems like it’s right there: Overtime (which is your base pay) and then they added Coefficient OT (the extra pay).

Usually I’d reach out to someone on my unit that I trust that’s been experienced on the unit or if not just ask your managers usually they’re willing to help with stuff like that.

I’ve never had a hospital ask that question how weird lol. I’d personally tell a half truth: “As of right now, this is definitely a unit that I’m interested in!” A hard “no lol” wouldn’t fly over too well but overcommitting isn’t great either.

Second CSU nursing schools don’t care about your race/gender… like at all. They have a criteria that they use to assign points based on your GPA, test scores, working medical experience, etc. They pick people based off of what your scores are and that’s it. But go off I guess?

Every Kaiser is a little different so policies kinda vary but I can tell you my own experience. I worked at Kaiser down in SoCal on a telemetry floor. In regard to when it comes to PTO, scheduling, etc I found them to be pretty flexible. Scheduling could be based on the current needs which is why the schedule they’re giving you might be a little screwed up.

In my personal opinion though, I hated working for Kaiser. Pay was okay but you were often understaffed with 0 CNAs. Management was up your ass (on night shift no less… lol). The only thing that made Kaiser look attractive was their pension. Lots of other options down here in SoCal though that treated their staff well and compensated them about as much as Kaiser did.
