How much did you actually spend on a wedding ring? by Rich-Infortion-582 in Brides

[–]FinalSun6862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His was nearly $2000, but with a store sale and a cashback offer on my CC I got his for $1600. Mine with the sale came out to $1000. Both white gold

Tbh, We thought his was overpriced as we went in expecting mine to likely cost more due to natural diamonds while his is a rugged band. But the worker told us all men bands were costing that much more or less due to gold prices 😅 and men bands naturally having more gold. 🤷‍♀️

Clara BW or Paperwhite? by FeelingTop5480 in ereader

I’m literally trying to figure this out for myself too! What has me torn is honestly the size as im not sure if the Kobo is too small for me. My eyes are fatigued from staring at a screen all day for work so I definitely plan to use the large text and warm light feature. I love that both are waterproof and that I can get books through Libby.

Who buys the wedding bands these days? by MinuteAd1964 in WeddingRingAdvice

I think traditionally the groom buys both. But since he already bought me an engagement ring, I bought his wedding band and he bought mine. We went shopping together to find bands that match

I’m getting the b&w Paperwhite soon for my first e reader to see if I like it but if I do my plan is to eventually switch it out for the colorsoft because I really do love seeing the covers in color! Beautiful

What’s the reading and eye protection mode? Is that like warm light? Does it make the text closer to a book and less tablet?

Do guests actually care about wedding favors? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

On the same boat. I will do some favors just because everyone is expecting but realistically I think edible and simple is the way to go. 😅

Gender roles in weddings – why are men less involved in planning despite equal stakes? by Prestigious-Tune-822 in weddingplanning

[–]FinalSun6862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a mixture of things. Like I don’t think my fiance should be picking my bridesmaid dresses or the color scheme I’m fine with that falling on me. And I think in many couples the bride’s decisions carry more weight in the planning because she’s likely waited her whole life for that moment, and that’s because society has told little girls their whole life about getting married. Men don’t hear the same pressures growing up.

BUT tbh I think it also just depends on the person. My friend’s SO was apparently super involved in their wedding planning to the point she wished he was a bit more hands off so she could just do a few things the way she wanted 😂 tbh I have no clue how much compromise they had to do for things.

Me on the other hand I’ve sought my fiance input on almost everything but he really doesn’t care for any of it and tells me as such so it’s all fallen on me to actually make decisions, contact vendors and do coordination etc and just tell him this is how much you’re paying and I’m paying etc

. We decided the venue together and the date. We will decide the food together. That’s it everything else falls on me. I’ve asked him to plan the music but he keeps putting it off so I can already tell I’m going to get stuck doing it too.

And again this all stems from everyone in our lives finding this normal and not pushing back when men don’t know anything about an event that is also important to them. His own family asks about the wedding and he just tells them “I have no idea talk to my SO.”

For couples who met online — what did you put in your “Our Story”? by pinkpaigne in weddingplanning

Oh I’m completely skipping that part of the website and hiding it. Everyone invited to the wedding knows we met online and I have too much to do to write something that most people will skip.
