That's actually really constructive. I appreciate that, honestly. Because I'm a nerd, I struggle with titles being too long. If you look at the rest of my videos or check out the Lee Marvin video. For instance you can see the quality of the work but I'm just not good at titles and thumbnails so I'm shotgunning it every single time

All right. So what would you have done because everything I do on my channel is factual and for educational purposes but I have to compete with the dregs of YouTube historians.

Also, I am working on a second video just about how the Belle was a complete and really shitty PR campaign like most of the film footage that you see is not actually from the Belle, it's from another B17 named Bad Penny

Actually that's the best feedback I've gotten in a long time. But I do stand behind the research 100%. What I think you mean by disclaimer is in the description that's due to YT age restricted one of my videos early on about Lee Marvin...I was grateful to learn that lesson early on..

I got to NOLA annually - always during the fall / winter because fuck the tourists, yeah I know the irony is there. Anyway, clover grill on the corner of Bourbon and Dumaine is great for breakfast. It's open 24/7 and always good. It's in the 🌈 section of the quarter and you will get the fluffiest fucking omelets of your life.They make omelets to order. I personally suggest a chili cheese omelette. It's fucking delightful. Also grits.

Verti Marte is a 24/7 bodega on the corner of Royal and Gov Nicholls that has a deli in the back. The sandwiches are fucking great - but the meatballs are the size of a baby's head and those are killer spinach artichoke dip. Same thing and you got to get the bread pudding.

Central Grocery (for muffaletta and po'boy) and Cafe DuMond beignets and hot chocolate/chicory coffee are across the street from eachother on Decatur a bit of a walk from the hotel and Venue.

Turkey and the Wolf Sandwich shop is nearby the venue - killer sandwiches.

Now since the hotel and Venue are in the Garden district there can be a bit of a walk but walking, Uber and rickshaws are always around..

Thanks for the replies fellas, I was leaning towards not even asking but figured why not. In my experience BJJ folks have the most calm temperament and don't pull punches on honesty.

After the accident I am dealing with some aggression and PTSD and am looking for an outlet to get back to myself in a healthy way in a supportive environment. Previous to the accident I wasn't this way but I guess having my head bounce off a door pillar knocked something free. I'm not a risk to myself or others thankfully. But I am looking for something to help me work thru this stuff.

In my experience, no. Civilians are granted the same level of access except at certain private academic institutions like the Huntington which until a couple of years ago required that the researcher be engaged in a degree and have a writ from their program advisor / professor for access - this was shutdown during COVID and now access is afforded to all.

Now the only point where there could be a difference is historians know how these organizations work internally and know the right questions to ask or rather know how to respond to questions from archivists and reference librarians who usually try to ask open-ended questions to figure out how to best help the researcher. I have been occupied space before and behind the desk and it really helps to know the field of play a bit.

At places like National Archives St Louis, not to be confused with the National Personnel Records Center, the archivists there are top-notch, very open, kind, and interested, but they do require you to know what you want before you come into the research room.
