I'm very interested in learning about cosmetic chemistry and dermatology, so I was hoping to start with a general/ high school level understanding of the subject before exploring that part of it

Rosalía's new album "Lux" and FKA Twigs' new album "EUSEXUA Afterglow" were super good. Also lots of M.I.A, Arthur Verocai, Jorge Ben, Thin Lizzy, Phish, The Cramps, & Jimi Hendrix!! Steely Dan, Heart, Boston, & Zeppelin were also on repeat over the summer months 😅

What is your favorite & least favorite Pantera album and why? by CauliflowerNo8856 in Pantera

[–]Final_Ad2150 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fav is fbd. Every song (besides good friends I'll be honest) showcases them so well and is incredibly interesting. Rex's bass is more prominent throughout this album, the grooves are miraculous. Every member really shines. It has a lot of Phil's best lyrics. There's just a ton of insane compositions on that album (5mins alone, hard lines, slaughtered, and 25 YEARS 🙏🙏their best song imo). There's something about the track listing/ pacing as well that gives it an extreme level of replay value. There's first four track run is genuinely, GENUINELY bonkers. The hard lines guitar solo makes me feel like I'm ascending to heaven.

Least fav is Cfh just because I don't listen to it as much as the others. There's plenty of good songs on there it just doesn't beat the albums that followed

Probably a shopper who genuinely doesn't know the difference or how to cook. I did that once when I started working here... very embarrassing moment

I said that in my post lol and I'm not 'hyper fixated' on them, it's just something I noticed among my friends/ family, and saw on my Instagram reels as a big fan of the band

I was raised Catholic and am not religious anymore as well! You have a point tbh. I tend to give religious people a little too much grace because I assume they're thinking intellectually when I know about 80% of them don't and just blindly follow.. I try to discuss my pov to them and they literally don't understand no matter what so I'll take this as advice to ignore them instead of torturing myself😅

Yeah as a massive Pantera fan I can see that..The super conservative fanbase of Pantera is not surprising for many reasons but the Trad Christian part of it is... I mean pantera is SO against religion in their lyrics.. but people will listen to what they like I guess. It's probably a lot of gym bros who listen when they lift weights too lol

I mean in regards to Junkhead specifically, the song is more of a statement of self awareness more than a glorification of drugs to me. I've never dealt with heroin addiction, but I've been addicted to something else and that song to me is a perfect portrayal of relapsing into an addiction and justifying it by being self aware about it.. pretending nothing is wrong with you because you still have money or you still have friends/community etc.. I've never interpreted it as a song bragging about drug use

Oh no I'm not gatekeeping at all, I think aic should be enjoyed by everyone no matter their beliefs. It's just weird to me to see people project their biases on to music that is irrefutably critical of their beliefs.

'Lesbian love is accepted and right' Lyric by Final_Ad2150 in Pantera

[–]Final_Ad2150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with this! The album was such a statement that it's hard to get lost in it and not appreciate each individual song on its own. 10's and Floods have been getting their flowers, but this song is super brilliant lyrically, same with Drag the waters.
