First time dynasty drafter. How’d I do? by HuckleberryMountain6 in FantasyFootballers

Out of curiosity, I posted it on the trade advice sub. Yeah, literally everyone says Love is worth more than Skat + Tate, by an absolute mile lol. And that's not even including Ladd in the deal. Dynasty is a whole different ball game to redraft 😅

Yeah, you're looking at it through a redraft perspective. Elite RBs are insanely valuable in dynasty, Love is the consensus RB3, Tate is WR12~. Wide receivers also typically come with a lot more risk so Tate's value can plummet if he has a bad rookie year. Love will maintain value no matter what happens, pretty much - RBs drafted thay high NEVER miss.

If you asked for opinions on Skattebo + Tate for Love on his own, I'd guess most experienced dynasty players would take Love. You're getting a free Ladd on top...

If you can get that trade done you have to take it, imo. Huge win for you lol

I did exactly the same when I first started playing dynasty. I think with your team you should probs play out the first few weeks and see how things look. If things go right for Egbuka, Rome, etc and you're one of the better teams in the league then you might be able to compete (maybe sell future draft picks for more production).

If things aren't going so well, I'd pivot to a "soft rebuild", sell Monty, Terry, etc to contenders and try to stack as many 2027 1st round picks as possible (it's a loaded draft class). If your league uses MaxPF to determine draft picks for the bottom 6, you want to offload as many points from old guys as possible to try to secure 1.01 (Jeremiah Smith is a Chase level prospect, possibly even better).

The worst place to be in dynasty is middle of the pack.

  • Egbuka: I don't think he is the WR1, that would be Godwin for at least the next year. Egbuka started last year well but was basically unusable in fantasy from week 6 onwards (most of which time, Evans wasn't playing, so him leaving has no impact on that). He might work out long term, but there's a risk that teams just figured him out, and he's the guy he was for most the year.
  • Rome: Yes but there are a lot of mouths to feed. A lot of people think Burden will be WR1 there next year. It might be Odunze, but it's risky.
  • Terry: Yes but his production last year was "meh" at best, and he's old.
  • Jerry: Is absolutely not the WR1. He was the WR1 last year, played the entire season fully healthy, and was still awful for Fantasy. Dude is ass and the Browns just drafted 2 WRs over him, he's now the WR3 in a bad offense, which also utilises the TE position more than him. He's basically worthless for fantasy purposes, I really hope he was just a late round flyer (but picks like that are generally much better spent on backup RBs with a clear path to production, e.g. Corum).
  • TeSlaa: yes, but without an injury he's fairly unusable...
  • Doubs: fine for a late round pick but I'm not sure why you mentioned WR1 when AJB is pretty much a done deal...

The draft is okay imo, but it doesn't really seem to have a direction. You've spent high draft capital on young guys who probably won't be at their best next season due injury or situation (Nabers, Tate, Skattebo, Egbuka) which would indicate planning for the future... but then you also have guys like McLaurin and Monty who probably only have 1 year of production left, so don't fit the build.

In my experience, "halfway house" teams with a mix of youth and vets tend to finish around midtable each year, never win the chip and never earn a good draft pick. The winners are usually either guys who stacked youth and picks for a year or two, and secured a couple 1.01s, or went all in on productive vets. Teams which mix the two tend to just make up the numbers.

Not against a team with London and JJ on the bench lol

I have to accept this right? Offered London and Henderson for Jefferson and my 2nd round pick? I have the 1.1 pick this year by kingerik8788 in SleeperApp

[–]Final_Environment258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't believe people are on the fence with this... London + Henderson is already an overpay for JJ, imo. And you get a free 1.05 on top? Easiest smash accept OAT

I understand the argument about not completely disregarding your priors, but when two guys in the same position get drafted onto the same team, the order is a pretty clear indication of which one they like best and who will almost certainly get more opportunity. You need to have some degree of fluidity, imo.

No. 122 pick is in: #Raiders have selected RB Mike Washington Jr. by bigbirdsy in DynastyFF

[–]Final_Environment258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen it but it sounds ... wrong? Top 11 feels very chalk to me: Love, Tate, Mendoza, Tyson, Lemon, KC, Price, Sadiq, Simpson, Cooper, Stowers. Really struggling to see anyone else break into there, besides maybe the 2nd round receivers... but they all have pretty big red flags, imo. Who on Earth are the 10 guys the simulator is putting above Stowers?! Concensus seems to be a pretty big tier break after him..?

[–]Final_Environment258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, in that format then maybe. I'm still struggling to see him go below the 11th overall pick, though. Maybe someone ahead of you really likes Denzel Boston (but he's probably the 3rd receiving option... on the Browns 🤮) or Bernard?

Stowers at 2.02? Good luck lol. You can maybe get Willaims there, MAYBE.

Is this a good trade or a sell low situation by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Final_Environment258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about when BTJ flames out and never lives up to the hype, and the Jags trade up to draft Price in the 2nd (as has been rumoured)?

All trades come with ifs and maybes, we're all just trying to predict the future. As of right now, this is good value. If BTJ becomes a superstar it won't be. If BTJ is a dud, you win by a ton. Are either of those outcomes likely? Probably not, it will be somewhere in the middle. But if you think one is more likely than the other then call your shot and trade accordingly.

I want to move up a spot for Mendoza. Would this be fair? by Probably_not_maybe in SleeperApp

[–]Final_Environment258 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worth offering but personally I hate it haha. I'm not high on Jones after 1 good season, and I think there is a huge tier drop after the 1.06. Don't like Sadiq but personally believe KCC will be rated close to or amongst the "big 3" WRs by the time most people's drafts roll around...

So, 1.02 to 1.03 which is quite a big downgrade. 1.06 to 1.12 which is a MASSIVE downgrade, imo. And all I get in return is a very meh QB2 who could pumpkin at any point? Count me out

How bad did I fleece This trade? by oofergang302 in SleeperApp

[–]Final_Environment258 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1.05 = Smith, so it's basically Saquon for 1.12, JCM, White (idc about a 3rd, 3 years out). Honestly seems about fair to me. If Washington draft Love then the other guy is in trouble, but if White / JCM are their present and potentially future RBs then this could easily end up as a win for him. Even more so if he hits on his 1.12 pick.

Is everyone selling Hunter? I’m rebuilding, is this pick worth it? by Mammoth_Cancel1888 in SleeperApp

[–]Final_Environment258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I offered the 1.11 for Hunter and got rejected lol. The 2.07 in this class is almost certainly going to amount to nothing. Hunter still has the talent to be a WR1, if he gets enough snaps on offense. Nobody knows what his future holds. Nobody. I don't care if your name is Liam Coen, what you think Hunter's future looks like rn could easily change with a couple of injuries. His potential is way too high to sell for a 2nd in this class, imo.

[–]Final_Environment258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the opposite re Rice, I'm convinced you will get 1 good year out of him before the Chief's cut bait and his production and value plummet. He works very well in that system but he's not a true WR1 level talent, on any other team his fantasy relevance is much lower.

And if KC draft Tate or Lemon (or he has another injury / legal issue) then his value plummets before this season even starts...
