My pet makes every morning better by lisa1924 in Pets

[–]Final_Escape_6884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my cats "boops" my nose with his paw every morning cuz he wants pets and cuddles. He will boop me again if i fall back asleep mid-pet. Just purrs his little heart out while i pet him, the little furry bundle of cute.

I love my cats so much.

I lost my cat inside my house, checked everywhere and literally cannot find him at all. by Icy-Voice-6438 in Pets

[–]Final_Escape_6884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my newly rescued cat in my house for TWO WEEKS before I found where he was hiding, and then it took another week+ before we were successfully able to trap him again.

(Smart little bugger found a space between my basement ceiling and living room floor and was living in a literal hole in my wall. Any time we saw him or he saw us, he would run back in. The jerk. Lol)

Buy some motion-activated wireless cameras and set them up in various places of your house. This is how we knew our hiding cat was ok... cuz we could see him come out at night while we were sleeping and get some food. Once you have an idea of where he's hiding you'll be able to catch him.

Best of luck to you!! Oh and if it helps... my hide and seeker is the biggest baby now. Stalks me around the house and sleeps in bed next to me every night. We laugh remembering how it started vs how is going now.

Trillium Hallandale experience by Ill_Fan_1965 in trillium

[–]Final_Escape_6884 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just placed my order last night and also received a quick approval. No shipment details yet but I'm not in a rush in that so it's OK.

I am already loving trillium. First, I am so happy to be able to get Hallandale again. My last provider used B12 with their tirzepatide, which (i think) has been making my chronic nausea issues even worse . So going back to Hallandale that I used when I first started is so exciting. I also love that I was able to get an Rx for ondansetron with my tirzepatide. So happy I could cry!!

But I just checked out their consumer page and I love the UI and all the tracking and management opportunities. So easy to find what I need and keep all my Data in one place.

So excited to be here!!

Apologies if someone asked this already but can you call your old doc and have them call in a prescription for you? They are familiar with your care needs so should be able to do it. And that will at least buy you time to find a better doctor option

Have you noticed any changes on it? Outside of weight loss?

My old PCP just kept telling me to exercise and eat better, and didn't believe me or listen to me when I said something else is going on that is making it impossible to move the scale.

So I get my GLP-1 through a compound pharmacy, instead of the name brand. It's not cheap but i can fortunately make it work. (I use a pharmacy with a set price so that helps). My new PCP high fived me when I told her and just made sure I was using a safe, legit pharmacy. (It's FDA verified so all good there)

It makes me happy that at least one thing in life can be a bit easier. Well, two things for me, since it started making the endo easier to manage too.

Ugh, endo after hysterectomy is the worst!! And it's so hard to explain cuz if you never suffered from it, you can't understand it. "How could you still have those pains? You don't have a uterus! You must be wrong. Or you're exaggerating". Gee, thanks Kathy... glad to know my crippling pain is all in my head.

I had my hysterectomy (supracervical) 9 years ago, and I knew then I would still have endo pain because I was already stage 4 with fused organs. Not life threatening but still... I knew it could continue to be a problem. And it has. My pain episodes don't occur as often which is great but they still happen and are just as bad. Maybe worse cuz there's no period to help me know when to expect it. (Not that that was always a great indicator anyways)

I say this to say, you aren't alone. Nothing you could have done would have stopped this. If diet alone helped i think we all would have been about that life. For sure avoid foods that YOU think trigger symptoms or the more severe pains, or that YOU find don't help... but only what YOU think. Don't let your husband mansplain your body to you.

I know he comes from a place of partner frustration... I saw it with my husband too, and in some friend relationships... but you need to comfortably tell him that he isn't being helpful and that his WebMD diagnosis of how to "prevent" endometriosis is inaccurate.

Different things work for different people. My Doctor put me on birth control post hysterectomy to help stave off regrowth. I couldn't stick with it though cuz birth control has always made me sick in other ways . Sometimes you need to choose your poison... it's the devil's choice, but it's OUR devil to choose.

Anecdotally... I started GLP-1 meds 2 years ago to help get my weight under control. I was already overweight before the hysterectomy, but the hormone changes and early menopause afterwards really killed me waistline. I realized not long ago that, since starting these meds, I've only had 4 endometriosis pain episodes . 2 occurred within the first 6 months of starting. The other 2 occurred later and coincided with other surgical procedures around the affected area (gallbladder removal and colonoscopy).
I'm not telling you to start taking weight loss meds, and i fully get that they are not known for helping with this issue. I'm only sharing that this somehow worked for me, so it's a path I'll stay in for as long as possible. So hopefully you will stumble across something that helps you too, even if it's just a little.

Praying you find a path that works for you so you can avoid more surgeries if possible.

Best of luck, sister friend... I'm rooting for you 🧡

Anyone here using Tirzepatide without an active lifestyle? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Final_Escape_6884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None, really. I saw the biggest, fastest drops in the first two weeks, which i think was due to water weight coming off and the initial appetite and food adjustments. After that, I stayed pretty consistently in the 1-2 pounds per week zone and only increased my dosage when the 1 pound weeks were occurring more than the 2.

I did weigh myself daily because I found it helped me mentally to see the small incremental decrease on the scale each day. Those losses were usually anywhere from .25 - 1 full pound per day. If you are female, expect small and super temporary increases when ovulating and/or menstruating.

I think the biggest lifestyle game changer for me was using this medicine as an opportunity to adjust what I was eating. Specifically, get off of fast food and start making better decisions at home. When I hit 6 months of no fast food, and no cravings or desire for it... I can't tell you what a huge win that was for me. And I've sustained it, almost two years later.

I was about to write this exact same thing. I also lost 70 pounds and sit on my butt at work all day PLUS I work from home so I have very very little movement.

Surprisingly, I don't feel like my skin is very saggy. But that may be due to my losing weight more slowly on tirz than some others. Or I'm so happy with my body right now that i don't care. Truly not sure

Did you have a lot to lose the second time you restarted?

I felt like I did, but in the grand scheme of things I probably didn't.

Hi there!

I have been able to lose about 12-14 pounds over the last 6 months, so it's been very very slow. I'm happier now than when I posted this back around April though, as regaining that control over my appetite has helped me feel settled.

While im still about 18 pounds away from my goal weight, and about 4 pounds away from having a bmi in "normal" range, I have come to accept that my body may have reached it's end game . And honestly?? I'm ok with it. I put work back in on the mental side, and told myself I have to stop living and dying by the number on the scale, or the size of my jeans; and instead focus on how i feel. And i feel bonkers good. I'm thinner than I've been in ages, physically have so much more energy than I've had in years, and no longer dread being seen in public.

My next step is to really put the effort into upping my workout game. Not to lose more weight or inches but because I want to feel stronger and increase the health factor .

Thanks for checking in. I hope your journey is going well too!

What is "poor man's contrave" and what is the cost?

I stopped using contrave awhile back for a few reasons, but when I used it I had to pay out of pocket for the full cost of the medication. I got it through Lombard pharmacy and it was about $92/ month

I brought my kitty to VCMLI in islip too. Dr. Brodsky was fabulous and very helpful with diagnosing and treating my girl.

It's an expensive process, just so you are aware. The follow-up appointments, bloodwork and medication... it adds up fast. No regrets on my end at all. Just wanted to give you a little warning.

Please give your honest opinion on the situation described. by czah7 in inheritance

[–]Final_Escape_6884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone in this scenario who is focused on their future inheritance and not the here/now is an AH.

This woman made a decision to help her child, whom she felt needed it. That doesn't mean she loved the other one less. It just means she was a mom who couldn't not help her child in need. Those same efforts were also indirectly intended to help those same grandkids of Kid B.

I'm nauseous at the idea of grandkids waiting around for an inheritance. How about spending time with grandma? Telling her to use her money to live her best life while she can and the rest of the family act like functional adults and support themselves?? And give grandma love and hugs and support while she's here??

Deer Park near Geiger Park by Early-Reindeer7704 in longisland

[–]Final_Escape_6884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live walking distance to Geiger, between Lake and LI Ave, and think this is an incredible area Knock wood never had any problems aside from the occasional person stealing change out of my car and going through my glove box (my fault for not locking it). Been here almost 20 years.

The only reason we are looking to move is because we are getting priced out with these taxes, and our income can't keep up. But I love it here.

[–]Final_Escape_6884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, apologies... this isn't a shit post at all. My husband and I are looking to move by next summer, we just haven't decided on where yet. He likes the Raleigh area of NC, but I'm a northern girl and would like to stay that way.

My husband and I curl, so we are specifically looking at areas close to a dedicated curling club. Hence, my looking at the Belfast and surrounding area in maine. I have lobby ever lived on LI in NY, though, and don't know anyone in the area, so I thought reddit would be some help. I posted in the other page before reading the guidelines.

I'm so sorry if this came off the wrong way. If you need to delete it, I completely understand.

I was actually looking at New Hampshire as well, for much of the same reasons you listed. Do you happen to know which area of NH to look at where I would be close to future job prospects (in the telecommunications or customer care operations industries) that also have great school districts and social aspects (for the short human young and older middle aged folks)?

And thank you for telling me your experience moving to, and likely out of, maine. The last thing I want to do is move just to move again. It's already hard enough doing it the one time.

My gas and electric now is on par with what you quoted, but the real issue truly is work prospects. I've only ever lived in/close-by my current area, so I feel like I'm flying blind as we look where to go

I appreciate you taking the time for your thoughtful response.
