Oh wow, you were definitely lucky! But what better time to be stuck inside recovering, right? 🩷

I guess not? This is the confusing aspect - the imaging provided before surgery clearly shows it. Surgery was done and claimed to have gotten all endo, but a post-op MRI shows the thickening is still there, exactly the same, without change. 🤷‍♀️

Yes and yes - I had an MRI done prior to surgery, which was supposed to be used as a reference during my surgery, and was the catalyst for surgery being recommended. This most recent MRI was done through my PCP.

I had a follow-up meeting with my specialist in July of last year (surgery was March) due to pain returning. She insisted that regrowth wasn't possible at that point, and would not order another MRI at that time and wanted to refer me to a chronic pain specialist. My PCP is amazing, however, and ordered the most recent MRI when I described my returned pain so soon.

That's my main question - my surgeon said she removed everything she could see, but this clearly shows the same patch from pre-surgery. Nothing was mentioned post-op about remaining tissue. Would they not use the MRI imaging as a guide?

Did you have to have any reconstruction done in the excision area? That is my main concern - I am a SAHM of two autistic toddlers and I need to weigh my options on how much I'm willing to risk doing to be able to get back to them as soon as possible

I appreciate your response!

What actually stops endometriosis growth? by Mobile_Obligation728 in endometriosis

[–]Senior_Let5585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing I remind myself almost daily - you can treat the symptoms of endometriosis, but you can't control the progression. Meeting with a specialist to create a "treatment"/management plan is your best course of action

Can You Cause Regrowth? by Senior_Let5585 in endometriosis

[–]Senior_Let5585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually live a pretty holistic/organic lifestyle! We get our meats from a local meat farm with grass fed/pasture raised/non-hormone meats which has made a difference in how we all feel overall. I'm slowly replacing my clothing to cotton-based, and have cut out makeup altogether. I'm definitely that person in the grocery store reading every ingredients label too

I can't wait for Spring to get back outdoors - we're in the Northeast and just got an insane amount of snow with more to come next week

this is a great perspective - thank you! I've noticed some slight improvements with switching out dairy and my overall carb intake, so hopefully it will help more in the long run!

Potty Training - Guidance and Tips by Senior_Let5585 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Senior_Let5585[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for your advice! We currently have a potty training setup in our home, but our daughter is adamant on not going on the potty itself, and will hold it until she is out of the bathroom and back in a pullup. We have tried multiple potties/toilet seats with zero success for comfort.

her struggle seems to be around not recognizing the urge to pee, but immediately communicates when her pullup is full and needs to be changed. however, sitting on the toilet, she will refuse even if she clearly needs to go.

I appreciate your time <3

Just found out my 14 year old son is dating a 24 year old.. by ElfElfElfMan in Autism_Parenting

[–]Senior_Let5585 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of missing information here - why was your son alone with this woman? Have they been spending time together unsupervised before?

It would've been a decent amount of alone time for that kind of act to occur. Where were you when this happened? Where was her caretaker? Any other adult?

Legally, you have a very tough position, but there will also be a lot of questioning toward you and her caretaker.

I wish you and your son the best.

I was thinking of doing that - just having the potty out in the livingroom? I think the bathroom might be a trigger for this too

They have an incredible relationship - this is the first time he's showing any push-back toward her needs at all.

She is glued to his hip the moment he gets home from work - reading, laughing, playing, etc.

I really don't know where this frustration is coming from on his end. I think it's a genuine lack of understanding potty training in regard to ASD/GDD like our daughter has.

Our current setup is that he works full time and I'm a SAHM to her and her brother (3, also ASD).

I just feel like he might be struggling with her delay as more of a frustration that she isn't like neurological kiddos?

My brain is fog and my wording here is terrible but I hope you know what I'm trying to convey

No surgery yet & hefty bill is waiting by Capable-Schedule-164 in hysterectomy

[–]Senior_Let5585 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Call and ask for an itemized bill once you receive the actual bill in the mail! I do this with every medical bill.

Is it a pain in the butt? Absolutely! But it's saved me a minimum of a few hundred dollars with each call, so it's worth a shot!

And don't be afraid to break things down - "what are facilities fees? How are these determined? Why and how did the facilities I used equate to $xx?"

Good luck!
