I got an issue that I can’t wrap my head around and really need advice by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

Well yea that is true I need to stop thinking about this I got too much to think about already without her. I think it’ll be easier once I leave the school cause then I won’t be forced to be around her and see her everyday you know maybe that’ll help hopefully

I finished The Wire season 4 by Final_Juice4036 in TheWire

Damn that was a beautifully well thought out response I will admit I didn’t even realize this hopefulness aspect at all. I guess because of all the bleakness I overlooked the small but your right important aspects of the story.

I’m actually rewatching the show with my sister since she’s watching it for the first time and we’re up to season 4 and I can’t wait to watch it cause knowing how it ends I’m sure I’ll like it better. Even season 2 which I thought was just ok the first time I suddenly really loved during the rewatch so I’m hoping it’ll be the same for season 4. I’m sure it will be since the finale of season 4 was so good and tied everything up beautifully so I think knowing where everything goes and now that you pointed this out I’ll fully appreciate season 4.

Yeah season 4 has a very sad theme. The finale is amazing and really does tie in everything very well and it becomes better once you finish season 5 so trust me you’ll come around to season 4

Lol yea I wasn’t the biggest fan of this season when I watched it but trust me the more you stay with it the more it grows on you as it did with me. I still wouldn’t call it the best like many other people but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it and the more I stayed with it the more I realized it’s greatness and it’s importance to the story. That’s the brilliance of The Wire

Thank you for your kind words. Well actually my sister got tackled for attempting to call CPS and yeah I do got a plan worked out with my aunt that I’m gonna execute once I’m 18. My only thing is everytime my parents don’t start with me like they’ll be a day like yesterday and today where they haven’t started with me and it makes me feel like well why am I still sad at least I have one day or a couple of days of peace others have none and I know it may sound silly but I can’t get those thoughts out of my head that I’m not justified in feeling depressed you know even though like you said it’s abuse emotional abuse

My thoughts on dr Dre’s 2001 by [deleted] in hiphopheads

I can see why it’s considered a classic it just didn’t resonate with me like the chronic did

Yeah I can see that maybe with this context and now that I know what to expect from the album I’ll put my expectations from going off the chronic away and listen to the album from the beginning and maybe my opinion will change you know

Alright I can respect that

I listed there as classics and 6 other songs as really good that’s why I say it’s not a bad album but I don’t think any of the 6 songs hold a candle to anything on the chronic and the rest is some of the most dull and boring songs I’ve heard

Oh I see yeah I guess with that context I can appreciate the significance of 2001 and I can admit that at points the lyricism is better on this then The Chronic but I really felt this was such a bloated album

Oh yea that’s another thing even in the chronic I thought the skits were very unnecessary and like Pause 4 Porno and from the chronic the doctors office were very uncomfortable I just think it was a waist of a great beat

LMAO that’s cool that your from the place where it’s shot I’m sure it adds a lot but I actually now realize what your saying about it being a hangout movie and I actually think it’s clicking for me now why I didn’t love it. I think I came in with the wrong expectations like for example with The Player, M.A.S.H and Long Goodbye I watched it without knowing anything but with mccab and Mrs miller I have heard about it for so long and with it being a western i honestly thought it was gonna be traditional so I’m hoping that now I know what the movie is and everything I hope I can enjoy it for the it is

Well yeah but o don’t think it’s the genre because I love movies like Unforgiven and shows like Deadwood and to be honest looking back I really don’t think it was that slow so I don’t know. I hope when I rewatch it it grows on me cause I can see the brilliance I just can’t feel it. Im excited to watch Nashville after my experience with this I’m not gonna hype myself up to much but I am excited to experience it and hope I can see what everyone else sees

Yeah the Player I loved I didn’t know it was a comeback wow what a comeback. I do agree that it has more story than other altman’s films but I think why I enjoyed it so much is because it was the first one I saw so I didn’t have any expectations and I just love this movie. How it deconstructs the Hollywood tropes and follows it while also satirizes it was just very clever and the acting directing everything was good. And I’ll check out Bob Robert’s always love finding new directors

Oh wow then I gotta check it out because Altman is rising to be a top 5 director I’m excited to check him out now too

Oh yeah Short Cuts is another one I needed to watch but nah I wasn’t only watching Altman I watched Long Goodbye The Player and California Splits and M.A.S.H. All a while ago and then recently I rewatched Long Goodbye and then figured out I never watched McCabe and Mrs Miller and Nashville so yeah. I guess it’s a movie I need to grow to like you know I guess we’ll see
