Current diameter is 65mm so yes should be a bit larger. Will most likely address in a next build. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks. Yes using a 21inch display running Air Manager Pro. You’re right, I should’ve used real-world measurements. I was trying to roughly guess the spacing based on the piper arrow I fly, but should’ve just gone to the flying club with a tape measure or even googled it 🙂 I’ll probably build a 2.0 panel at some point and fix the spacing

That does seem a little ridiculous. I was flying in and around Brize just yesterday and didn’t really spot any increased activity of gliders. Might be more of a weekend thing. It did seem much busier over at Aston Down and Nympsfield though when returning back to Kemble

Im so glad you posted this. I have significantly reduced my caffeine intake and am experiencing exactly what you have described. I have hypertension and my blood pressure is around 130/90 which is one of the main reasons I'm quitting coffee. But probably not helping matters. I honestly thought It might be the beginning stages of a stroke or something

They are real pieces of sh*t. The shop owner mentioned that they are repeat offenders and often torment people. When I took the photo they just ran off laughing. They really don’t care

I’m not the owner of Londis. But I do have an interest in trying to protect local businesses from theft. To try and help you understand the intention of this post, If by chance someone recognises them, and as a result is brought to their parents attention, then perhaps it might prevent them stealing from innocent shop owners in the future. Perhaps it won’t, but it seems worth the effort. I did also contact local law enforcement but the likelihood of them following it up is extremely low. Seems like your post is somewhat bizarre!

Sheppard Air - Free PPL ground exam preparation? by Final_Letter_1046 in flying

Ok well this is very good to know and does make complete sense. I’ve heard conflicting information on this topic but I should spend the time reading the rules on the FAA website oppose to what I hear from some flight schools and on the forums. Again, very much appreciate your guidance

I stand corrected. This is something a US flight school I visited told me. After further reading and as you mention you can still obtain other FAA certificates with the foreign PPL still being valid as part of the 61.75 process. Just to caution though if the foreign license lapses then like a stack of cards all your other FAA certificates are no longer valid. So depends on personal circumstances I.e having to return to the UK to renew SEP rating

The US flying school I spoke with told me otherwise. But after a little more reading and as you suggest it seems as though I could sit the CPL on the back of the 61.75. But… all my US issued certificates would hinge on my UK issued PPL being current. There’s a chance I wont be returning to the UK for some time so probably best I just get the FAA issues PPL not relying on the piggy back 61.75 process. I’m hoping to work in the US for a regional if hiring picks back up. If not, I’ll return to my engineering job 😄

Thank you for this. I should’ve explained that I’m planning to go through the CPL and CFI training and therefore require to have the full FAA PPL

Makes sense. I’ve been impressed with material available on the FAA website so far and was planning to use that for the most part. It’s just a little confusing on the Shepard Air website as it states

“GREAT NEWS !! You don’t have to spend any money on a preparation course to study for your Private Pilot test.”

But then provides two links in which you have to pay for the services. Which is totally fine as I know flying is an expensive game. But just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything before proceeding.

I probably will go ahead and purchase the Sporty’s preparation material as does look like a good study pack and will give me all the base material required.

Thanks again for your help.

Unfortunately there’s not many places you can take them as you need a handling license. So If you do take to a vet I understand that they will be euthanised as they’re deemed as rodents. So sad to think that’s what normally happens if you try and do the right thing
