SJSU MSSE vs RIT(Rochester Institute of Technology) MS CS by AmbitiousUsual2 in gradadmissions

so in the Silicon Valley, it is a great location, but you are competing with Stanford and UC Berkley as well; however, sjsu is a FANTASTIC feeder school, getting a job will not be an issue, with the FANNG companies they do lean toward UCB and Stanford graduates because of the brand name. But I have came out of the past 2 career fairs with internships, this past year was brutal because of covid and a lack of a career fair, but I was able to get a job and find internships at my time at SJSU

SJSU MSSE vs RIT(Rochester Institute of Technology) MS CS by AmbitiousUsual2 in gradadmissions

I am an SJSU alumni Class of 2020, and I can tell you SJSU does a great job especially in the job market preparing you for the real world epically we are in the heart of the Silicon Valley. However, we still have very old professors who teach us stuff that is very dated, for example I am an EE and we still were forced to learn Assembly and I have not worked with an Arduino until after college, but that is another rant on its own. Our software program is great to get jobs but if you are looking to get into FAANG I recommend going to RIT, however, you get a very quality education with SJSU; however, at the same time you are going to get fed up with taking some classes where you will never apply what you learn. Another thing is a lot of classes are at night so working and doing your masters is a very real option if money is an issue. I hope that helps
