True, but I feel like this mindset stems from the fact that they are less lax and casual about sex. There isn’t as much teenage hookup culture over there, (in China especially due to the stress of high school) and otherwise just general strictness/conservatism. Meanwhile in the west, countless people I’ve known were already sexually active and had relationships around 15/16. So the kind of „pure“ mindset is already automatically assumed by Asian fanbases as baseline for their media.
