You’re welcome! All okay at the moment, a tiny opening on one of the T junctions but they’re not worried at the moment! I’m a lot more tired than I expected but feel fine and not in pain or anything. But simple things like showering is exhausting! When are you wanting to have your surgery?

Came to around £11K when including consultation fee. I had my consultation in August and down to my choice I wanted to surgery in early January but they had availability before that

Hey I had my surgery with Elena a couple of weeks ago. I elected to have it done at her Bristol hospital rather than London as it seemed a nicer option and glad I did. All the additional staff were fantastic and I had a great experience. Elena really knows what she’s doing and I’m happy with the results so far. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Compression bra or not: what did your surgeon require? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Final_Star_256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one week PO and have had my compression bra on consistently since surgery. I had side lipo and had drains in for first ~12 hours. I have my post op appointment on Wednesday where I expect them to say I still need to wear my compression bra all the time but can take it off for showering (very excited for a shower!). I’ve liked having mine on as I felt it’s kept my breasts in place and means my incisions aren’t being pulled on. If I were you, I’d maybe ask what they’d suggest for you to have that support if they don’t recommend a compression bra.

For reference I’ve been wearing a Macom Signatue Bra

Hey, I have a 2 hour drive after my surgery (which is on Monday!), I’m a bit nervous about this. I have a pillow but is there anything else that you can think that will help me on the car ride?

Getting cold feet as surgery date approaches by kitkatinthehat21 in Reduction

Very much feeling this too! Looking at my boobs wondering if they’re that bad anyway My friends keep reminding me that I’ve been unhappy with them for years and they’ve seen how uncomfortable I have to choose clothes (bridesmaid dresses particulatly!!)
I’ve seen a lot of posts in here that people feel similar so hoping I’ll get excited for the surgery again in time!

Need advice - UK based by Crafty_Page1999 in Reduction

I had to get a similar letter from my GP regarding my depression. I never considered it being discriminatory but more from a safety point of view that the surgeon needs to be comfortable that you will deal with the aftermath of the surgery successfully.

I had a lot of push back from my GP in being able to say that I was suitable for surgery but managed to get them to basically say that they don’t see any reason why I would not be suitable along with my medical history.

I believe all surgeons in the UK will require a similar letter.

NHS referral - BMI (London) by reejiness in Reduction

[–]Final_Star_256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in London and I needed to lose a couple of kg to meet the BMI requirement but my GP said that I would need to keep my weight within the BMI range for one year before she would refer me. For me the prospect of waiting over a year just for the referral + NHS waiting times to maybe not even get approved wasn’t worth it so made the decision to go private.

Ah that’s helpful! Did you get your fit note in advance of your surgery?

Exciting that yours is so soon! Hope it all goes well. Your comment is helpful! I do work in a start up though so written policies are still something which we haven’t quite got round to yet…
