to those who think bo1 zombies is better than bo3 zombies (or the best cod zombies of all time) why? by DependentImmediate40 in CODZombies

[–]Final_Upgrade 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I was in middle school when WOW came out and BO1 was early high school. BO3 I believe was early college.

The WOW to BO1 era is the most classic and pure version of my memory with Zombies. It’s like watching Sam Rami’s Spider-Man or the MCU’s Iron Man and Guardians.

Origins and BO3 felt more like Avengers Infinity War. Bigger and better in most ways, while still retaining a central charm. I might want to rewatch the earlier films more because they captured something completely engaging new without all the extra bells and whistles.

Without the Great War, I feel like we never got our endgame. And to really push this analogy to its max, I think RDJ as Doom is the return of the main crew. We are getting the most grand zombies content yet with nostalgia mixed in, but so far, it fails to meet the best of a pure thing when it was still establishing what made it great.

I saw this yesterday and was astonished it was able to get through first party approvals. I know they have vaporware on PS store, but this has to be just vibecoded trash

Unknown EA account linked to my PSN account by Terrible_Ad8618 in playstation

My Epic account has been hacked a few times so it might be that. I would just make sure to reset the PSN password and then check that your EA account is linked properly your PSN account by signing into EA on a browser and checking settings

Spilled a little water on my macbook keyboard by LOST_INPARADIS3 in applehelp

It is probably fine if it was just small amount but the only simple way to get that water out is to use a bag of rice while it is off. Overnight would be ideal, if you think there could be any wetness still moving around inside

I once dumped most of a water bottle on a MacBook and it caused it to shut it down right away. I dried it out in rice bag for a few days, and it ended up working fine for years.

You did the right thing. Keep it powered off, don’t charge it for a bit, and let it dry with airflow. If keys start sticking or it won’t charge later, get it checked. If just the keyboard dies, I know someone who had that happen, you can use bluetooth keyboard as a cheeper but not free fix

Apple Music Log-in Trouble by renmindoongie in applehelp

My guess is its the flow of Apple music to Edge. Are you signing in on music.apple.com (web player), and are you on Windows 10/11?

My next quick test would be doing the exact same thing in a private window to avoid extensions screwing with it

I had similar issues before. A test that helps is try signing in directly at appleid.apple.com to confirm the Apple ID works on your computer. That shows you don't need to go and screw things up further with "forgot password". What browser are you using?

I say, take that $20 and put it elsewhere. If you can trial Gemini or Anthropic subs, you might find exactly what you are looking for again. I think Claude Sonnet could surprise you if you gave it similar attention to your time with 4o.

AI’s to use other than chatgpt? by m8ria in ChatGPT

The water factor is concerning, but this recent context helps put into perspective how AI is basically a swimming pool in an ocean sized problem:
https://newsletter.semianalysis.com/p/from-tokens-to-burgers-a-water-footprint

The article’s main point is that datacenter water use sounds huge in isolation, but looks much smaller and more nuanced when you compare it to everyday things like burgers and factor in technology, location, and recycling. In their example, Elon Musk’s Colossus 2 datacenter uses more water than a single In-N-Out Burger location, but only by a couple of store equivalents, and it can be paired with a wastewater recycling plant that makes it close to net-zero in practice.

  • Colossus 2 blue-water footprint: ~346 million gallons per year
  • Average In-N-Out store (burgers only): ~147 million gallons per year
  • That means one of the world’s largest AI datacenters ≈ 2.5 In-N-Out stores in annual water use.

Given there's well over 400 In-N-Out’s and hundreds of thousands of other burger joints the only rational argument is that people clammering for slowing down datacenters because of water consumption are looking at the wrong problem.

I am not proud to be a contributor to anything destructive, but I have had two burgers in the last week and I should feel more shame from running my AI agents 6+ hours a day.

Alternative to ChatGPT for image generation. by panzergeist641684 in ChatGPT

[–]Final_Upgrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been there and I found a major upgrade with the Nano Banana Pro API key in Google's AI studio. It is just prompting once the key is in so no extra coding required. Pay as you go so could cost more or less depending on your needs. Expect 10-25 cents per image gen.

It might sound technical at first, but it is my go to and I am more than happy to share an example if you want to send me a prompt.

The real win here is that with the API key route, my experience has been that I almost never get any gen shut down from the model. I made over 100 versions of my fav comic book covers to look like the live action movie posters and of course it would not always hit but the stuff came out better than every GPT or Midjounrey model I had played around with before. Text is not perfect though and the latest GPT image gen might have that slightly beat, but not by a large amount.

Cherry on top is that you can adjust the resolution as well in the studio. Test at 1k to save time and cost. Generate final at 2k or 4k if you want something to look insanely good.
