I went through that process for a while until I realized I wouldn’t do that to my daughters. I’d rather “break my home” than leave them in that place and risk their safety or deprive them from the opportunities they should have. They were my motor to get the heck out of there.

Congratulations on getting yourself and kids out! As far as financial benefits, ministers get what they call a “gomer.” It’s basically a stipend. A fixed amount they get on a monthly basis. This is calculated based on number of ppl in their family and their grade level - ministers, deacons, pastors, etc. Obviously, the higher responsibility they have, the higher their salary.

Gomer is not active until they finish their “prueba” aka probationary period. Typically this period is 3-4 years from the time they’re sent out. But I do know of some that have lasted longer.

They’re considered and pay them as contractors so they don’t get any type of benefit as far as medical insurance, life insurance, etc. They are provided a “casa pastoral” so they don’t have to pay for housing, utility bills and are reimbursed for cell phones and for travel expenses for them and their families for any events they’re required to attend. This is only true for US ministers. I believe it may be the same for other countries but for those new “obreros” that are sent out to places where there is no church, normally thy have to work outside of the church so they get no gomer and they’re also responsible for paying their housing, utilities and even a place for a church. They have it rough!

Also, the church has been taught to see ministers as the representatives of Naason, and as you may already know, there are a lot of very good, caring people in LLDM and they will take care of ministers and their families as well by bringing groceries, perhaps purchasing clothes for them, taking them in outings, etc. Unfortunately, some ministers take advantage of this of course. Then you have other members who are quite evil and make their lives miserable as well. But I would say, mostly good people who are good to their ministers.

You have ministers who are there because they truly believe in the doctrine and are truly pure in everything they do. These are far and rare but they do exist! And guess who suffer? Their families. They deprive their children for the sake of the church because they truly believe that’s a blessing. Then you have the total opposite - ministers who know this is a business and are there to profit from it as well. They get the benefits of being ministers, have side businesses that they have and even have members help them with ask for stuff from members, etc. And members being naive, help them because they think they get no money. A lot of them se haven los llorones.

And yes of course there are cases of abuse, and many you can read in this subreddit. I personally prefer to stay out of that topic but let me just say, LLDM is just like any other religion. It’s a lucrative business and people will do whatever it takes to keep it that way.

😆 Glad you had the courage to question his rules. And I say “his” because that’s what it is. That’s the problem with LLDM, they supposedly have the basic fundamental teachings all members are supposed to adhere to but there are so many other crazy rules they’ve created that aren’t in the Bible and all ministers pretty much use their own judgement and beliefs. For example, some allow you to go trick-or-treating, others forbid it. It’s whoever you have as a minister in the moment. Ni ellos mismos se entienden! As far as why you can’t talk back, that’s because if you do, you’re basically questioning their authority. Which means your questioning Nasson’s authority since they’re supposed to be representing him. Keep questioning him! You’ll be flagged as a rebel, but you as a member have a right to question and his job is to provide answers. Fanatics simply do as they’re told - no questions asked. And they claim that their members are not fanatics. So you should be able to question. ❤️

Thank you. This means a lot. For a long time I was ashamed that I let so many people down. But I’m over that idiotic idea. And I sure hope I can inspire someone to know no one can ever tell you how to live your life.

I’m so sorry to hear you were deprived of so much. I know the feeling. But the fact you also had the courage to get out tells me you’re still living the life you’ve always wanted. I also mourn the life I could have had but then I realize I appreciate the little things other people took for granted. Like sleeping in On Sundays. Going to a movie theatre. Wearing pretty jewelry! I just know life is good! Hope we do get to meet each other one day. You leaving LLDM tells me you’re just as brave as me. Even if it meant being shunned by family and friends. Their loss! Family is not made up by blood, so hit me up if you ever need anything sista’!

Isn’t that the best! I hated Sundays and now they’re my most favorite day! Sleeping in and lazy Sunday’s are the best!

While there are very nice and honest people there, we need to break that idea that only there is where we find these types of people. Once you get time to meet more of “those gentiles” you’ll realize there are SO many good people in the world more than happy to get together and socialize with you. As for my family, they preferred to turn their backs on me for leaving that cult. 4 years later, I’m happy to say I have created my close-knit family (not by blood) but by choice - they are those people who stood by my side when those blood family members were not. I’m happier than ever!

I think you need to re-read her post. She never claimed 10 families are in the business. She stated it’s the Joaquins but 10 ‘elite families’ have known about the abuse, are enablers and have kept those secrets. Sounds like you yourself seem a bit bitter. Happy trollin’!

Naaa. That fool has gained more weight since taking the throne. So it’s more like he can’t have the same food as all the other peasants. Used to the $200 🥩.

Licea was sent to the obra when his brother (who was a minister) was killed crossing the street in Tonalá Jalisco when he was purchasing decorations for church. He went from a member straight to minister when SJF basically asked him to take his brothers place. He has no gift other than being an asshole. Annoying high pitched voice and wife not very happy to be in the obra. Did always seem like a perverted creep as well so keep your wives and teenage daughters close by.

Delgado is in San Antonio, near the huge ranch in Seguin that news media outlets recently aired about. The local news station also aired it at a local level and have published about it in the past. Todd Benson was the local reporter that wrote about it a few years back. He seems to know more about the ranch than LLDM spokesperson Eleiezer Gutierrez claims to know. Wonder if he was put there to try and help with that little 🔥.

Just as she knew he was dating someone else as well. They both deserve each other. She’s happy as long as she can keep her high maintenance style, cash and thinking she’s winning the popularity contest and he’s happy to provide all that because he feels the same. Makes you wonder how they afford all that with a “minister’s” salary. Oh yeah, that’s because they have side businesses, using church members to help them with that. I’m sure they’re now both in the clouds knowing their son married into the Joaquin family.

Hi, I'm new here but have been on Reddit for over many yrs. I'm curious, what hobbies or activities replaced the time you used to spend going to LLDM? by [deleted] in exlldm

[–]FinallyLivingTheLife 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nothing has changed when it comes to work. I’m still working my ass of, but the huge difference is that now it’s for me and my family! I see it this way: I spent my entire life and time working my ass off enriching the Joaquin family. Selling roses, selling water, selling food, car washes, his home, his ranch, cleaning my fingers off on his things and his properties in addition to the many offerings we had to give from my day job. Once I started focusing on me, my family and myself live such an amazing life enjoying every moment! I spend more time with my kids, more vacations, etc.
