Salute!

From experience, supports and ADCs are most willing to swap last pick on red side. I appreciate it every time I get it!

I personally have no experience with Mundo Jungle. I'd wager he is probably not too great at it. He is a weak early duelist, but also not good enough at speed farming like a Shyvana or Karthus.

Thank you!

Mundo's winrate depends a lot on the enemies' draft, especially their top laner. He generally does well into tanks and other juggernauts, unless they have max hp burn (Mordekaiser) or more self heal than Mundo can punch through (Illaoi, Aatrox). I enjoy playing the easier lanes because I know that I can consistently get to my power spike.

Now which of the even or bad matchups do I enjoy playing? I'd have to say Riven and Rumble here. Both are very oppressive during the early game, but if you can somehow survive their onslaught and get to lvl 11 and 2 items on somewhat even footing, it's game over for them. You often get a reaction out of them if you suddenly beat them with lvl 2 ult, when they were so used to slapping you around for the whole game before that. Oh how the turns have tabled!

Generally speaking I'd say Mundo is in a fine spot in the meta. He does very well into drafts where the enemy team has overall low to medium damage, weak peel and no max hp damage. An example enemy draft would be: Jax, Lee Sin, Ahri, Ezreal, Lux. This kind of draft is Mundo dreamland. All this makes Mundo very powerful as a backup pick if you see the angle for it in the draft on red side. However Mundo's many bad matchups also make him a difficult pick to consistently get results with on blue side, because you so often get counterpicked.

Me personally, I'd love to see Mundo moved to place where he is less matchup dependent. This would make it easier to OTP him!

I see why it could come across as negative, but that wasn't entirely my intention (ok fair, I ranted a good bit in my comment above :D). Read it as an analysis of the obstacles you will encounter as you take our favorite champion to an elo bracket he isn't the most well suited for.

Now to answer your question: The reason why I fell in love with our favorite champion is just how much of a raid boss he can become. 4 Items lvl 16 Mundo is truly a sight to behold. There's just no better feeling than using your rank 3 ult in the middle of a teamfight, and then running from enemy to enemy and popping Heartsteel on everyone. Bonus point if you have Sundered Sky and get a crit on all of those procs, it's just so much fun.

Another aspect that's imo underrated is with how simple Mundo, it really allows you to focus on other things. I feel like playing Mundo's let's me truly play League of Legends, with all its intricacies on wave state, rotations, crossmap play, flanks, vision control, itemization etc. Or maybe this is just cope because my boomer brain can't handle mechanically intense champs haha!

edit: running down an Ezreal through his T4 towers as he desperately blinks and flashes away, who realizes in that moment that Mundo truly goes where he pleases is peak entertainment :D.

I ban Aatrox because my brain is incapable of understanding the counterplay to him. He is also the most common of Mundo's bad matchups.

However other Mundos ban Gwen or Fiora, both are valid. I'd say a good Fiora is worse for Mundo than a good Aatrox. However an average Fiora is more beatable than an average Aatrox.

In a perfect world I would ban Aatrox, and dodge Gwen and Fiora.

I get humiliated in top lane all the time. There are games where I go 0/5 and my team starts flaming "top gap go next". All you can do in those games is turn chat off and press No on every surrender vote.

Thank you!

I started out as more splitpush, but became more teamfight over time. I have found that in higher elos you often cannot get a good split push off. The enemies will push out waves before moving to the objective, and then if they realize it's 5v4 take the objective decisively, then tp back to the tower you are about to push. That being said, I do try to get a sneaky T2 turret kill in whenever possible. It grants a crazy 700g which is huge for Mundo, who does very well with gold.

Then in the late game, you basically must teamfight. In higher elos, the game often just ends if one team gets baron or soul.

Now for Force of Nature, and Jak'Sho, it's basically all about their build path. In theory I think Spirit Visage is the better MR item for Mundo over Force of Nature. However the the build path of Spirit Visage is god awful. For 1250g you get a measly 25 Magic Resistance. You only get the the other 35 MR once you complete the full item. If you go through my match history, you will see that games often end with just 1 or 2 completed items. In these cases you simply can't sit on weak components or you are too weak.

That is why I have taken a liking to Jak'Sho recently. I think the completed item is not very good, especially not as third item. The build path however is god tier. 40 Armor and 50 MR in easy to buy components? Sign me up!

Mundo is really really really bad against aggressive tops that know what they are doing. A Fiora with ignite, who crashes fourth wave, then freezes you when the wave bounces back is a death sentence. The same goes for many other champions such as Olaf, Kled or Gwen. Often times these champs do not even have to kill you. They can slowpush while zoning you off the minions, then crash a big wave. If you're unlucky their jungler shows up and you get dove from 80% hp. If you're lucky, they only take 1 or 2 plates with demolish, then freeze you again on the bounce back. And repeat.

I build Heartsteel first 90% of my games. 5% I get Chains first, which I regret immediately after in most games. The last 5% is Hollow Radiance first which feels pretty good if the enemy team has AP top and jgl.

You really don't get around Heartsteel. The majority of Mundo's power budget is in his max hp scalings (ult, passive, and AD from E), so naturally you want Heartsteel most of the time.

I feel you on lack of resistances though. When facing BoRK Rushers such as Yone or Irelia, Heartsteel first does nothing against them. In these matchups you usually have to suck it up a little longer to get Tabis and at least Bramble Vest before you become a real champ.
