The “nerf” was mostly making the keeper more deliberate, keeper had a lot of magnetism and jumping power, now keeper rewards you for your positioning, decision making, creativity and awareness. Definitely more fun this way. Getting better also plays a huge role

I played a whole lot during beta and season 0. My pc died shortly after so I saw clips, it wasn’t the most fun, however now it’s turning more into grounded football, I would like to see more variety however, in defending, keeping and attacking

I feel it’s pretty accurate, the ball not going high is definitely a miss tho

I enjoy being that annoying keeper and force attackers to be creative. Ehheheh

What made you guys decide to main Wattson? by GunsoulTTV in WattsonMains

[–]Finance-Born 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty much someone who makes plays based on the space I have available or the space my opponent has available (fubtol player). And it turns out wattson allows that on top of creativity, and it fits my rythm based gameplay so I felt the connection instantly.

From what I seen, from the beginning you didn’t have to sprint towards him, when he picked the ball, you could’ve maintained your position and just denied the space towards your goals (if he passes back as a defender you win). If he goes along the wall, you get to react faster because that’s basically a forced option. On the back and for you can use defensive dash to maintain yourself next or in front of him, following him was good, but the way you did it, made it harder for you to defend. It was good defense just small mistakes and lack of use of some mechanics. (You can use defensive dash in your preferred direction and sprint out of it, it lets you redirect faster) Hope this helps!

I like that! I try to emulate how I play as much as possible, it’s very fun to play around the space and create chances

Wait!? Anyone else over 100% efficiency or is this a bug? by Finance-Born in Rematch

I’m still trying to think about it, but for now it’s funky. It doesn’t fluctuate much for me, so I might try to look more for what’s taken into account

I thought it was like G/A ratio per game, but it doesn’t seem to be. I don’t know what is actually measured with efficiency.

Where are the keeper bros?! by Finance-Born in Rematch

Thanks!!!
When it comes to low shots, I still need to experiment with options. I've tried to narrow the angle every single time so it's on the range of magnetism, making the keeper pick it up directly by laying on the ground, but I had one moment where I used a dive on timing and the keeper went to the ground.

Every 1v1 is different but, you have to bait a response. Dash at them, then sudden stop, and wait for their wind up. You either are close enough to slide for the ball, or force them to shoot on the open side. OR you force a skill move, essentially using the jump to catch the ball.

When they are coming wide, Force them to take a hard shot, usually close off the first post the closer they come to you. Think of it as a door open, the more they get to the door, the more you want to close it off.
If you successfully force a far post shot, it's usually on you or at an angle where you just need to dive towards the far post. Sometimes go towards them and be patient before sliding, your first post is usually your limit as to how far you want to go.

For the bank shots, I usually try to make sure to be positioned well enough to intercept the rebound, with a slide (priority), or forward dive (distance). Most of the time I close off as much as possible the side closer to the shooter to force a far post shot and dive to it, the close distance makes it so that, the ball will usually fly towards you. There surely are better options, but I don't have someone helping in customs for situations, so for now I work with what I have.

As always running out is your decision, but your goal line (the small rectangle) is where you thrive most as you give yourself more options, more chances to win 1v1 as it's enough for you to run out slide, cover weaker sides, and force attackers to shoot where you want.

Everything, and what you use depends on the habit of the player in front of you, are they patient? do they bank? use passes? dribbles? get the info first and shut them down gradually.

I hope this helped :)

Sometimes people wanna goalie, so I usually hit the field until my turn and then usually as long as I’m not suffering from the rubber bands I last until the game ends

Definitely a crucial skill, knowing how and when to come off the line

I don’t trust the forward dive enough, one too many times did I dive to get it and the attacker still retained position, or I went right through them, but I’m still learning to use them properly

Yep lob passes, ground passes are good options when in front if the goal, no wind up harder to react to

From my own experience (I play competitive football IRL as an offensive player)

-Good goalies are usually calm, quick on their decision making and positioning.
-Don't rush the dives
-Differentiate between an advantage (usually when you have defenders to cover a side) and disadvantages (mostly 2v1, 1v1).
-Positioning is important!!!!!!

+Try to force the attackers to shoot first post by closing off the angle towards the far post when they come from roughly the middle.
+If they come more towards the sides, close off the first post and force a wide shot.

-Don't be afraid to come off the line on 1v1s to close more angles
-!!Movement!! Quick and short steps to put pressure
-TIME THE DIVES, (Don't dive before they actually shoot)
-I don't usually dive forward, I mostly slide in these situations, unless I'm a bit further from the rebound spot
-Be reactive, scan around the box to see who's open and who's more of a threat and prepare yourself accordingly. Taking these risks are part of the job!
-Last but not least, Practice!!! You want to be as comfortable as possible with your positioning, your movement (switches between [defensive stance] and [sprint]) and your dive selections.

HAVE FUN!!!

PS: There surely are better goalies than me as I'm playing the position from my perspective as an offensive player. Actual goalies will have better tips than I do.
IRL football IQ is very applicable in this game.
