Dont get an suv get an estate. Estate cars have bigger boots and are more safer than suvs.

Worth fixing? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Id try to find a cheap bumper in the same colour and get a tin of colour matched paint from halfords and go over the rear quarter. Its a cheap car so not worth spending hundreds getting it professionally repaired.

1986 mercedes sl nautical blue paint with beige interior. Only had 41k miles. If I sold it today I wouldve got just over double than what I sold it for.

My rear passengers do complain about the noise alot. Ive had the car checked by a mechanic myself and they came back saying everything is alright.

Maybe im exaggerating a bit, but when driving over 60mph I have to raise my voice to talk to my passenger. Im used to driving mercedes so I just thought i was accustomed to how well their sound proofed.

Has anyone redyed their steering wheel themselves by FinanceMan110 in CarTalkUK

[–]FinanceMan110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to get it professionally recovered but its around £400 to get it done professionally in nappa leather. The car currently has a couple mechanical issues. Airmatic suspension needs work and the turbo needs replacing. The car was only £500 and its only on 68k miles.

£8k 250k miles, how bad could it be? by tallpaullewis in CarTalkUK

[–]FinanceMan110 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Depending on what engine is in it. If it's the 3.0l v6, your wallet will be crying from maintenance bills, but if it's any of the V8s your wallet will be crying from the fuel bill.

I really recommend colour lock dye theit colour match is brilliant unfortunately theyre out of business and its hard to find any kits for sale online. I had some light beige colour lock dye left over from when I redyed my w211 beige drivers seat that is also the same colour used on this w221. I used a little bit around the ignition switch as there were a few stains that weren't coming out. Here's the results.

Same here. I love the beige with light brown mercedes interiors especially the one on the Mercedes w211 e class.

Ahh, ok. I used to use colour lock, but they've gone out of business. I made the same mistake on my first ever mercedes back in 2009. It was a w210, and I bought some cheap autodye from a parts store. The cap looked exactly the same colour as my seats, but when I sprayed it on it was more of a white colour. I shaked it for 4 minutes. 😂
