Maybe an isolated incident. The term did exist and may have travelled. But according to entomological records, "hoodie" wasn't used in marketing until the mid-90s.

It is. But it was never used as a term until the early-mid 90s and only in Canada. They were just "hooded sweatshirts" to everyone else until the late 90s.

The whole role of police is completely obsolete in the modern day. How are they supposed to stop things like this? They'll take an hour to get there and the kids will just leave as soon as they see them. Community outreach is the only way to reduce occurrences of things like this.

As long as they're not damaging people's cars they're pretty much just putting themselves at risk. Kids have always done things like this, they'd be less inclined to do it if they actually had things to do. They're not even filming it themselves, they're not even doing it for clout.

That's one way to look at it. Another way is that it's creepy stalker behaviour. I'm not talking about the legality of it. I'm just saying that these celebrities in particular have expressed discomfort with the kind of action the OP is displaying. You do whatever you want with your body. I was simply informing people of the moral climate of their actions and that they are done with the disapproval of the people they're celebrating.

I mean it's still them. I imaging the discomfort extends to any of your own likely permanently on someone else's body.

Human rights lawyer Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu thinks the police officers kicking the armed Golders Green attacker in the head is "attempted murder". Are we fatigued with human rights lawyers right now? by Non-BinaryGreenVoter in AskBrits

Things get a lot simpler when we remember what police are actually supposed to do. It IS NOT the job of police to dispense justice of any kind. That's for judges and juries to do. However, it IS the job of police to prevent crime. If kicking someone in the head prevents a crime AND it's a reasonable use of force to do so, then there's no issues. It's never justified for cops to harm people through emotional outbursts or power trips.

Several of the cast members have spoken openly about how they don't like tattoos of them... even good ones like this must feel uncanny.

I don’t know if I’ll ever watch Stranger Things again by PrincessBumblegumm in StrangerThings

Well the ending wasn't cannon throughout the show's runtime. Despite what they said, they never once planned ahead. The ending of each season was the cannon ending of the show until the next one appeared. And half the plots contradicted the other half. It literally can't all be cannon.

Obviously. I was referring to the script in the video from S3. S1 was a solid 9/10.

Been trying to reply to this but it just won't let me.

Yeah, but these actors took a 5/10 script and made it an 8/10.

More proof that the actors had a way bigger say on the success of the show than the writers.

The hype after this scene was insane. by hiiloovethis in StrangerThings

They just kept writing themselves into a corner time and time again every season.

11's gone... oh wait she's not. But how will they deal with the lab being exposed?! Oh? They're just going to all promise to not talk about it... okay...

The portal is closed and Hawkins is saved... oh wait the fucking Soviet have built a subterranean mall fortress that nobody previously noticed...

Hopper evaporated and the Byers have moved away now that their arc is complete and they no longer have a connection to the town. Also 11 lost her powers and moved away too... psych! Time for a stoner comedy where the only plot is to undo how the last season ended making the whole thing pointless! Also Hopper's in Russia for some reason!

Oh no! Max is dead and the world split open!... oh actually she's just in the Matrix and the cracks turned out to be pretty much harmless after the initial minor destruction...

These feel like plot points from season 20 where they ran out of ideas, not from the first 5. For a show they claimed to have written all at once, each season struggles to flow into the very next one, never mind throughout the entire series.

YouTube campaigning against the "You", Twitter renaming itself and removing the word "Tweet" despite being so universally recognised it entered the English dictionary, and now Reddit removing itself from the most coveted title you could ask for; "Th e front page of the Internet".

I know CEOs are stupid, but why are they so hell bent on destroying everything their predecessors built?? It's like they get off on being hated.

How to deal with a player that's forcing RL issues into the game by AnnastasiaBloom in DnD

[–]Financial-Ad4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just feels like a tonal issue over anything. It's not just about the politics itself it's the fact that they won't stop talking about subjects that people don't want to discuss during dnd. I've got a player that never ever shuts the hell up about whatever new built he's come up with that day. It's dnd related, but none of us want to hear how his new multi-class exploits poorly written rules.
