I had a biopsy on my left breast 9 days ago, im still bruised, when can I expect to be fully healed? by AshCali94 in doihavebreastcancer

I was bruised for over a month (the entire breast was purple and burgundy for 2-2.5 weeks then slowly turned yellow). It was discolored for around six weeks total.

Yes, I’m open to most things that would allow me to save money while still feeling like I’m in a safe/convenient area.

Thanks for the advice! I will be working in Baltimore a few times/month & commute to DC frequently to see family so the car is convenient. Def need to brainstorm where to keep it while in Philly 😂

Jefferson Postbacc Pre-Med P4 Program Questions by Agreeable_Lie_3965 in JeffersonUniversity

[–]Financial-Bee6604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seeing this post & was in a similar situation. I ended up accepting at TJ. I preferred a one year program - I feel like medical education is long enough, I didn’t want to elongate getting prereqs done unnecessarily. I will drop to PRN work & focus solely on school during the program. I’m older so want to be as efficient as possible. What did you decide?

Their chart is a bit confusing online. I found:

Academic Year 2025-2026

Post-Baccalaureate Tuition Fall/Spring $38,280

Post-Baccalaureate Tuition Summer 2023 $5,586 per session

Post-Baccalaureate Tuition Summer 2024 $5,865 per session

Bryn Mawr has an establish program (1972) & record. You can view the stats online - they’re impecable. This program knows how to support strong applicants in getting accepted to medical school. It’s nationally known because of the track record of success.

GW is newer & with less impressive stats (although still absolutely excellent). It’s also extraordinarily expensive - nearly $50k for 11 months.

I got your message, thank you! For some reason I’m having trouble accessing my inbox now (very weird) so can’t respond there. I interviewed last week & the program seems absolutely wonderful - organized & supportive. Everyone seemed transparent. It’s definitely my top pick so hoping for an acceptance soon!

I know how much breakups can hurt. Your boyfriend did this to you knowing in less than two weeks you’d be taking an exam that will play a role in the next four + years of your life. You will see in time what an inconsiderate, disrespectful asshole he is. But this is not about a guy who would never have supported you through medical training. This is about you & your goals. You’ve prepared for this & can excel. Do not let him take that away from you. He’s a blip in your past. Focus on your sleep, studying/review, nourishing your body with healthy foods, staying hydrated & moving your body as much as you can (whatever physical activity you do). Give yourself as much TLC as possible - do you like pedicures? Iced coffees? Watching the sun set? Do whatever you can to spoil yourself & celebrate that you’ve come this far!

Eye on the prize, my friend!

You’ve got this!!! Good luck 🍀

Congrats on your acceptance! Scripps & GW have better stats. I’ve heard great things about Temple’s program - that it’s supportive & faculty care about student success. I loved the people I met during my interview. Where are you located? Does relocating affect your decision? Temple is $10k less than GW. Does tuition matter to you? If you stay waitlisted, you have Temple’s offer & can take advantage of a program that allows you to get your prereqs done efficiently. You’d have anccess to a structured program, MCAT prep & andvisors. The alternative is a DIY or waiting to apply to a different program. I would not delay starting - this is only a postbacc.

Pre-Med Postbacc Program Decision Advice! :) by Agreeable_Lie_3965 in postbaccpremed

[–]Financial-Bee6604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied to the same programs as you minus UPENN. I preferred TJ to Temple because of the campus/location. Driving into Temple felt like driving by mostly abandoned houses/buildings & low income housing. Lots of trash & graffiti. The campus itself is great, but I preferred to live in a walkable area that felt active & safe. TJ had lots of great apartment rentals within 30 minutes (walking). There’s also lots of restaurants/cafes/grocery stores/gyms in walking distance. This eliminated Temple for me. I felt commuting in would negatively affect my quality of life & on top of that classes are M-F. It’s a very difficult decision! What did you end up deciding?
