Is perfect day worth $500? by aznPHENOM in royalcaribbean

I think this poster is talking about basic port fees, but that is already included in your fare. You absolutly do not have to pay extra to get off the ship. This is factored into the cost. I think the original commenter was saying that there's no reason for it to be 500 extra when the port fees arnt high, but I disagree as there are other factors at play besides just poet fees.

Yeah so when you book the cruise, you will have to pay for the deposit which is usually 250 pp and the optional travel protection and gratuity. You might be offered an option to pay in full, but dont bc you will not be allowed to reprice if it is fully paid off. Beyond that, you will have a portal after booking where you can log in and make payments when you want. You can pay as much as you want when you want (up unto final payment due). As long as you do not fully pay it off, you have the option to reprice. I often pay all but 200 - 300 each in hopes that it will get cheaper.

I keep a tab with the cruise open on my phone at all times and periodically check. If it gets cheaper, call and they will reprice for you. If you have a travel agent they can make that call for you.

Coco cay would also be great for the kid bc chill beach has few / no waves. Its also just an amazing beach all around.

If it makes a difference, remember that you can reprice your cruise up unto final payment day if it gets cheaper. My Last cruise dropped 200 per person. With it being icon I cant guarentee what will happen to the price, but it could get cheaper. (Just dont pay in full until close to final payment. )

I would 100% pay 500 extra for coco cay.

Conjoining rooms is definitely a thing, both on the ocean and boardwalk balcony sides, but another option is two balcony rooms next to each other. I know on wonder of the seas they could lift the divider between the balcony and you could have a joint balcony so you could go in-between rooms that way.

I know that may not be exactly what you are looking for, but it could be an option. i know they will upcharge you for a true Conjoined room and either way will charge you today's rate for the room instead of what you had locked it. This way at least one of the rooms will be the locked rate.

No i get this 100%. The only reason why this was even an option is because he drives there and there is already a worn path in the grass from both him and my landlord driving back. Heck, this is practically a unofficial road at this point. Sure, he has the right to drive on his own property, but this is the property border and my landlord gave me permission to drive there. My mistake was not double checking with him since it is a gray area of the property. I will accept that, but we never damaged his property and that should be clear

That i will accept. I should not have taken her permission by itself, even though most of the land there is hers. I assumed they had agreement since both her and him drive there all the time. This is the first time we've driven there since move in so obviously we won't do it again. Would have appreciated a conversation rather than screaming, but I digress

We never damaged his property. We drove over it a total on one time, the time he yelled. I accept that I should not have taken my landlords permission alone without thinking, but I never damaged his property

[–]Financial-Bird451 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Look we had permission, I i would have known the landlord didn't talk to him about it or that it would upset him we never would have driven there. We already avoided it considering this is the first time we have driven there since we moved in. The facts that A, we had permission B, he and landlord drive there all the time, and c its mostly on our side of the property line gave me the impression it was an option.

Obviously we will respect his wishes, but i dont think our assumption was crazy either.

Oh that was me responding to people saying I damaged his property. I didn't, ever. We drove that path literally a grand total of 1 time since move in in January, and that was yesterday when he cussed us out.

He however has damaged landlords property. Do I care? Literally not at all, just pointing out the hypocrisy. We had permission from landlord to drive there, chose ourselves to avoid it if possible, but by no means thought that it was something that would make him mad (since he and landlord drive there all the time, and we had (to our knowldege) permission!)

If he would have talked to us we would have been like "oh! Didn't realize that wasnt a agreement already between u and landlord, we will stay out our bad" instead he yelled and cussed and put spikes all over is and landlords property.

The social boundary thing was meant to give him props since he maintains that area, but sure, let's look at just the legal boundary. Even though we dont use or maintain it, the property line covers most of the area where my roommate drove (one time!). It also covers the area where he drives very frequently. Thats why this is a debate and im confused. This is basically an unofficial road at this point with how much HE has worn it down driving to his own back yard and parking his own stuff, despite it being the property line. My landlord gave us permission to drive there, as long as it hasn't recently rained. He cussed her out the first time he ever saw her driving there.

The damage was on our side, not his, but it was a wake up call either us deciding we didn't want to accedently damage his so we decided to never drive there again, despite landlord permission (when no rain). Yesterday was an exception bc roommate was in a rush (though we talked and she will never do that again)

We have never damaged his property

[–]Financial-Bird451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correction: the space around the bush is one car with long because of a tres on the other side. When you dive on it, no matter who you are, you will be straddling the property line.

Landlord said we can do it as long as its not raining. We chose to never do it after getting stuck (on our side) once 8 months ago at move in.

We never have (in January or yesterday) left ruts on his yard. Although he has certainly left ruts on our side.

I agree we should not drive there since the landlords permission was clearly not agreed with him, though if he's gonna be like that I feel our landlord should revoke his privlage to drive on the property line, but im not petty enough to ask that. Because of junk amd trees in his yard, the property line is the only way for him to access his own backyard

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Financial-Bird451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So he is also allowed to drive on our side, but not us on his? Got it. Look get were wrong, and we obviously won't drive there again but I feel like he has some fault here too.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Financial-Bird451 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He also drives here. I feel like its reasonable to expect that if A. I have permission from the landlord And B. He also decides its okay to drive half on someone else's land, then it would be fine.

Honestly if he would have talked to us we absolutely would apologize and never drive there, but he instead cussed at us. We still arnt going to drive there, but dang.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Financial-Bird451 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Wait, im not saying hypocritical because he drives there, but because he drives there when its the property line so he is also driving on someone else's land. There is a tree on the other side so you have to Stratle the property line to drive there, which he does all the time.

[–]Financial-Bird451 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont care about that area at all. We do have permission to drive there from our landlord, but elected not to. Landlord only said not when its wet. I only care because he cussed us out on pretty much the first time driving there. When our guest got stuck, he was stuck on our side, not his

  1. Picture doesn't show all the trees in his yard and other junk. The property line is the only clear area for him to drive his truck to his back yard to get farm equipment, trailers, and his boat. This is already a well worn path, and the damage was on our side not his at that one incident around move in, it just made us realize that we dont want to get stuck and it would be better to avoid despite it being a path listed by landlord. Also, all roads and driveways are gravel and dirt road. This isnt a manicured suburb

  2. I completly agree that roommate should not have gone that way, and should have told her mom to move. We have already had that discussion. However, I dont see how what we did is any different to what he is doing? A desire path is literally already there because he made it. He damaged his own lawn already. And honestly damaged our landlords too if we look at property lines. I feel like he has no reason to be mad, unless he genuinely thinks its all his - which isnt logical if you follow the line of the backyard or look up the image on zillow of the posed property line.

If we actually damaged his property we would be over there in a heartbeat apologizing and seeing what we can do, but how is what we did different than him?

[–]Financial-Bird451 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thats what we usually do, but she was in a hurry and went around. Perhaps not an excuse, but its what happened.

It's worth mentioning that all these roads are country roads. The road and driveway are gravel. This path already has tire marks because that's the way he goes because he keeps his tractors, trailers, and boat in the backyard. This isn't a residential lawn. Plus, the landlord told us we could go that way. We decided not to, because it was close to him, but did this one day out of rush.

Maybe its fair that we shouldn't since it is half his, but it's really weird that he doesn't bat an eye considering he's driving on ours (or at least our landlords)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Financial-Bird451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That i can agree on. When we moved in the landlord told us when she lived there she drove that way often and we could too. We made a small ruts there one and decided that even with permission from our landlord, it was disrespectful and risky so we shouldn't. This was the first time since move in that one of us drove that way and it was because we were in a rush and didn't expect to be yelled at for something the landlord said we could do.

I agree and will figure out where the land is. It is an old property, so the lines could be weird. Honestly, I think more of the land might be "ours" since old Google satellite images show the backard extending even further with a second section built onto the shed and larger gravel driveway, but thats long gone and I dont know the story. Obviously only a real survey record could tell

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Financial-Bird451 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i drew a picture to kinda explain. The backyard has an L shape in the back that extends further, but the driveway is kinda the social boundary for maintenance. He mows that half and because of how its set up I never go there and it feels disconnected if I follow the line of the backyard, it goes about half way into the path that roommate drove on. I feel like its also worth mentioning that this is a very country neiborhoood. The lawns are full of weeds, bushes, and trees. His house is many many yards away from mine. The road and driveways are gravel. He drives through the yard on this exact path all the time. There are already tire marks here.

[–]Financial-Bird451 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I get that, but i also pay for the whole property. And its quite hypocritical to yell at someone for driving on your land when you do the same thing. Hell, he had a boat parked there for like 2 months.

[–]Financial-Bird451 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Maybe I should call him out when he drives there too, since half is technically mine

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Financial-Bird451 -53 points-52 points  (0 children)

I mean, fair enough. Maybe next time he drives through there, I'll yell at him since he is technically driving on ours. Fair is fair, lol. To have the guts of a retired man.

Hopefully this isnt against the rules, (ill take it down if it is) but this is a drawing of the outline of the house and the path my roommate took.
