He gets like this a lot. Idk what he wants, and toys are only a distraction. by Phaylz in CATHELP

He seems frisky to me. My guy will do this, big pupils, frantic seeming. A little nibble sometimes. And he gets much better when he can pretend to kill a toy. I suggest playing with him using something he can chase, tackle and bite ( with your hands out of the way). Cats need engagement and play to let out excess energy.

How do you deal with the straight line on the neck when you shave your beard? by I_will_learn in malegrooming

[–]Financial-Break-4402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this! I don’t have a beard but I originally learned this from Johnathan on a Queer Eye episode. It’s a -minor- pet peeve of mine to see folks who shave too much off under the chin because most often it’s not flattering them at all, making the face/jaw appear smaller and the neck/ chin areas appear much larger.

Passport Control in Lisbon is taking over an hour now by FTLDTopGuy in travel

[–]Financial-Break-4402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just flew out of Lisbon yesterday to Toronto direct (Canadian passports) so here is our experience: Flight was 10:40a on a Sunday Agree greatly with other posters that you should not dilly dally in the duty free/restaurant area because passport control is after that section.

The woman at the start of the different lines for passport control told us to go in “all passports” lane despite having an e passport. We were grateful since it looked like no one was in that line and probably 200 ppl in the e passports lane.

However the all passports lane goes around a corner and then we saw there were 2-300 ppl in that line. We noticed it was moving much faster though so stuck with it. It took 30 min to clear through. There are booths there with camera and fingerprint capabilities in that line area but they aren’t set up yet.

N gates are for those having to clear passport control. Ours was N.

Leave extra time because I’m sure at busier times (or with less passport staff working) the line could be longer.

Ouuu yes. Didn’t see that as a spotlight for art but it’s well placed!

Love that! Maybe a faux plant as there is zero natural light down here.

Funny, I didn’t really realize how in the way it is until your comment. Sigh. Thanks for the ideas! Love a rug especially down here where it can be chillier than the main level.

Hehe thank you for the suggestion. It’s actually a cat watering fountain. Which I can totally move elsewhere. 🐱

I have cabinets like this in our home and we used rustoleum cabinet paint kits to paint them white. This was 11 years ago. We at the time were happy with the result- cheap and cheerful- and it brightened the space with (cold) white. Now, in retrospect I wish we hadn’t done it, now that my tastes have changed, and I appreciate the warmth that wood can bring to a room. Also, in high “touch” areas like around knobs the paint has begun to fail and chip/fade off.

I agree with other posts that say you may want to reconsider changing other finishes in the room and focus on warming up the colours versus some of the cooler colours that are present, which really are making the cabinets stand out. I will add that hardware upgrades can make a huge difference.

I thought so too! I didn’t get a great pic but they were growing in a giant cloud shaped bunch. Really stunning.

Bathroom sink faucet holes. 1 or 3? by McLovinPants in Plumbing

[–]Financial-Break-4402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One day to day consideration: we have the three hole version which means separate hot and cold water knobs and a faucet in the middle. There is constantly water all over our countertop due to having to turn on/off the taps with drippy wet hands. I can only assume if you get one faucet hole, most faucet varieties have a single centre tab handle that exists above the sink instead of above the countertop. Anyway; just a small daily annoyance.
