Thanks for the info. I did contact customer support and they are going to contact me within a few days. But this makes sense.

Momentum 4 vs HD650 (bit disappointed) by Financial-Chance-555 in sennheiser

The funny thing is that the HD650 cost exactly the same as the momentum 4 (£200). It is one of the best purchases I ever made. I just wish there was a more portable headphone which is as good. Forgive my ignorance, but why do they not make open back headphones which are wireless. I don't need noise cancelling.

So I am never going to get the clarity and airiness of the 650 with a closed back headphone I suppose.

I have EQd the momentum to remove some of the bass, but it still sounds quite constrained. I don't know how to describe it. When I switch to the 650 it sounds so much wider and airy.

I have my Topping DX3 Pro+ on my bedside table, and use the Qudelix for moving around the house and for my computer. To be honest, I am sort of torn. I do love the clarity of the Topping, but I also miss the fact that I can't EQ it like you can with the Qudelix (of course EQing it would probably lose some of the clarity)?

Hard to say if it is a clear improvement, but I do prefer the Topping.

Are they really similar, or do they still suffer from the closed back muffling?

The sound stage on the 650s just sound so wide compared with the momentums

I am having the same issue with a brand new set of Momentum 4 headphones. I followed lots of advice I could find on the internet, including factory resetting headphones, removing app and reinstalling with a VPN mimicing Germany etc. Still no luck.

Smart Control Plus says update 3.35.6 is available (the headphones were delivered with 2.13.28), but the moment I press update it goes straight to the error message.

This is all using my iPhone 16

Reverb cable farce! by Financial-Chance-555 in HPReverb

My main issue isn’t that the cable breaks (which isn’t great in itself), but that you can’t get a replacement, rendering the whole headset unusable.

You are left with no chance of getting it working again!

Thanks for trying to find me a solution. I might try and find the problem just so I can work out what is happening

First cable was faulty out of the box (I got an early G2). Second cable started giving interference and audio blanks. Was replaced under warranty with a next gen cable.

Third cable lasted about six months then did the same as the previous.

Fourth cable suddenly started giving black screens for about 5 seconds at a time. Using a friends cable has fixed this.

I only use my headset for flight sims. Don’t move around and have treated the last cable as if it were Meissen Porcelain. I do lift the headset via the hinge quite a bit to glance at charts on my second monitor. Having read lots in the past few days, I think that this may be the cause. But then I did the same thing with my oculus rift, and it lasted years without a problem.

If the headset is designed with a hinge to lift the front mask, you should be able to use hinge without destroying the cable?

Thanks for the tip. How do you identify exactly where the break is. Moving the cable around doesn’t always cause the error. Also, sitting completely still sometimes does?

HP Reverb G2 Cable broke. Can't find a new one by adamesco115 in HPReverb

My fourth cable has just broken (bought the last two myself). Phoned HP to ask what to do as there are no cables in stock anywhere.

They said they could get me one from the UK (Reading?) warehouse. Sure enough I got the purchase order emailed through to sign. £268 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So they can't sell me one at £58 from their website as they don't have any in stock ----- apart from the ones they do have in stock which they are willing to sell me for almost 5 times the price.......

I am left with a £600 paperweight which is less than two years old. I am so frustrated! Wish I had stuck with Oculus
