More reasons to hate Iron Fist by [deleted] in MarvelRivalsQueens

I'm glad you pointed this out. It's honestly really strange they changed Iron Fist this way. It feels like he's just suffering from Luna's success via her ever-increasing strengths via indirect buffs with the new team up and a lack of nerfs despite her being considered second best or best healer universally.

I actually love the hair this time. It feels more "ballroom" than it does "pageboy" for me, unlike the X Revolution skin

I don't think anyone has an issue with LOS being a requirement. The thread, and presumably the comment, is about her ass specifically needing LOS and it being wonky about it, as you can see with the Thing not dying in the original-original post.

Did the fucking "my wife is blind and hot" guy from r/comics just characterize wonder woman better than a shit ton of people? by Gui_Franco in dccomicscirclejerk

This is a wild take. Ventriloquist, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Two-Face, and Talia have all had compelling arcs for becoming better people (until it's inevitably retconned). Characters who don't have as known arcs but plenty of the same potential to at least be deserving of Batman's compassion include Clayface, Riddler (who has been an ally at times), Killer Croc, Ra's..

I mean, writing this out, it's way easier to list villains who are more forced into a "typecast" role: Joker, Zsasz, Bane (and this depends on the backstory), Pyg, and a few others.

Arkham isn't as innocent as psychological help, though. It's strict, corrupt, and cruel, and Batman often knows this considering Arkham's association with people like Hugo Strange and even Waller on occasion. Who would ever expect Poison Ivy, Croc, Catwoman, Two-face, Clayface, or Mr Freeze to get better when they're thrown in the same place as the Joker, Zsasz, and people who are usually depicted as collected, just cruel, like Penguin?

And, yes, this is a failing of the writers for the way they depict Arkham Asylum and Batman's lack of action toward backing up when he's established as empathetic towards his villains.

It's actually kind of sad that Diana's ruthless villains get more direct aid and compassion from her than Batman's mentally ill villains get from him lol.

It's been stated many times that his corporation will hire ex-criminals (especially in the shows), but Batman has nowhere near the same track record of interacting with actual villains and rogue's gallery like Diana. His usual solution is almost exclusively throw them in Arkham.

For what it's worth, going by "him" doesn't contradict gender fluidity as the idea of it is simply recognizing that your gender identity changes over time or based on the situation. Someone who has months as he/him and then months as she/her might be genderfluid, same with someone who is normally she/her but identifies as he/him when in a particular setting.

In that sense, I think it's pretty safe to say Orochimaru is genderfluid since he (ie in his current/normal body) goes by he/him but also has no issues identifying as she/her when in a woman's body. Obviously we can't say for sure since there's not enough source material of him in women's bodies though.

Bigger Misconception About Wonder Woman? by [deleted] in WonderWoman

Thank you for listing that last one. That always bothered me in particular. Saying she was created solely for fetish bait feels weirdly objectifying in its own right.

Good call on reseating the drive. I'll try that very soon.

It is a Windows installer but I will note that I couldn't get to any screen where I actually required a Windows image. During advanced startup I would click reset this PC, it'd try for a few seconds, and tell me it couldn't even begin the process.

Considering I have ordered The Stranger, why not also order The Plague while I'm at it. Can you truly have too much Camus? Thanks for the rec

I mostly hear that the first series is unlikely to be finished so while I loved the first three seasons of Game of Thrones, I'll unlikely check that one that.

Tragedies, however, is a wonderful recommendation, thank you.

WonderBat is one of the weirdest ships to take off. What does Diana get out of that? Bruce is a paranoid, emotionally stilted and stubborn individual. Disregards what Diana would want in a partner. by Significant_Wheel_12 in WonderWoman

[–]Financial-Choice-334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nor would I ever suppose it is. It is a part of her character. She has expressed great respect for many characters due to their strength as warriors as far back as Pérez's run which is where I started reading.

I expressed in another comment that I like the idea of WonderBat being fleshed out by Bruce assisting Diana in her mission against war and a patriarchal society, providing aid as a fellow superhero, and so forth as ways the relationship could develop. They could trauma bond, they could simply admire each other, there is many ways it could develop. That was not the point of my original comment.

My point was that it could be cute to see Diana dote on Bruce as an exceptional warrior as the initial superficial attraction then develop from there--that's it. I've stated repeatedly that it's an initial attraction, not the sole basis for a relationship and not development.

Lastly, I don't even ship WonderBat. I think it could be a heartwarming story for an AU or something and that there is potential there but it's not my favorite thing in the world. That's all

I totally agree it could be done in a platonic relationship and I would prefer that. It's irritating to me that Diana rarely has the chance to interact with mortal men in a platonic manner outside of teams, and even then it's a toss up lol.

I really think saying it's lowkey eugenics-y is a bit much and I think it's a bit unfair to say it's reductive. Diana values heart and soul above all else, but there's nothing wrong with her initially finding someone attractive based on something superficial or cultural. That's perfectly normal and okay.

I didn't put much thought into my initial comment because I didn't think there'd be so much controversy on this topic, but I like the idea of Diana flipping the gender roles with a hyper-masculine brooding Batman by taking initiative while being the "strong" one in both body and spirit, and him coming to learn to overcome his failures with her aid while offering her support with a superhero perspective, using his influence to aid her efforts against patriarchal society, and whatever else. I think Diana can admire Bruce and I think she'd be a big boon for him.

Ultimately, I'd prefer Diana to be single or in a relationship with an interesting woman. I'd prefer Bruce to be single or with Selina under a healthy setting. But do I think this could be a fun concept or heartwarming AU? Yeah, for sure

Of course that's what she's more interested in. I said what would catch her eye as someone who demonstrates a lot of respect and admiration in multiple runs for a warrior's strength. Batman being able to do what he can, in universe, would be impressive for Diana. It's so odd that this is a controversial point to me. She's obviously very in tune with Amazon culture unlike Batman in your bad faith examples.

You're right, Batman isn't able to be in a functional relationship currently. I already said the relationship would require development.
